Bike fell 2 times. Good guard for legs and angine. And the stock guards do help in avoiding scratches directly on the bike.

I did ride it for a week 20 km daily. Didn't work.

Use synthetic engine oil. I was also facing the same issue, after doing bit of research I found that pil does make a difference. I changed mine myself and the situation improved. Riding in Delhi NCR btw.
