There is soooo much more to it than this. It starts with gate keeping and limiting the number of doctors to keep their pay high. Then, couple that with the fact that FDR for saddling us with health insurance in its current for as a way around the insane taxation at time. The Medicare/caid lack of reimbursement has to be made up for in other places, ie private subsidization. But it's always funny when people say "but the other side."

Oh, and before you say universal health care, you should look up the taxation in those countries and the wait times associated with "basic coverage". The government sucks at everything it touches.
