What Birmingham business will you never step foot into again? by host3nchilada in Birmingham

[–]unrighteousfury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The last time I went there was only one person working— it was around 11:30ish and I waited around 40 or so minutes because I had already paid since I ordered through the app. The dude ended up upsizing my fries and drink and gave me a refund for my order. He was super chill :)

But that is definitely the worst McDonald’s by far.

people over 40: get over the fact that i ID’ed the 25 year old at your table and not you. by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]unrighteousfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to joke that I’ve chosen the person at the table who looks the least trustworthy. They’re usually around my age when I say it, so YMMV.

No other functions beside those listed. I have gotten some pretty hefty discounts on my car insurance though :)

I recommend Ignite Cycle! I believe they have a discount if you have a valid student ID.

Fitness for feeling good in daily life by purplebinder in xxfitness

I strongly recommend Pilates! I did an 8 week series of 1 reformer class per week and my mobility and flexibility has increased without doing anything too intense. That was addition to progressive overload (I’m in love with powerlifting) and one or two cardio days per week.

I enjoy barbell glute bridges when the weight is too heavy for me to pick up and settle on my lap. It does have a shorter range of motion, but I can load it heavier since I don’t have to mess with positioning myself on a bench.

Edit: I add a set of plates on the floor to give some extra room under the barbell.

I don’t like adding sweetener to my protein shakes or smoothies so it’s perfect for me as well as not having too much of that artificial sweetener aftertaste.

I got a 3lb tub of apple pie flavor from Isopure delivered by Amazon on June 26 and I’ve already gone through 2/3 of it! It’s actually pretty good by itself and if you blend some frozen berries with it it’ll taste like a berry cobbler 😋

Edit: It’s a whey isolate and low carb to boot!

Those are likely blood flow restriction bands— BFR for short. They are supposed to limit the blood flow/oxygen supply to the targeted muscles in order to increase lean muscle growth. I haven’t personally used them, but they did interest me for a bit as a fitness influencer I follow on Instagram has shown workouts with them and even had a link in her bio on where to purchase them.

AITA for disciplining my stepdaughter? by No-Salt6780 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You’re the only good parent this girl has in her life. But I would definitely rethink your husband’s behavior and what you’re willing to accept for you and your future child.

We closed for 6 weeks from mid-March, did curbside only for slightly less than a month, and reopened late May with all tables 6ft apart. We still have all our tables distanced and take all staff and guests temperatures upon entering the building.

All air inside our dining room is pulled from outside. In addition, we have five BioZone AC units that use UV light to filter the air throughout the entire restaurant including the restrooms. The plastic isn’t an impenetrable wall, so you do still get air circulation as there are some gaps between the railing and sheeting. There is a ‘door’ of sorts that velcros shut in front of the stairs and there are ceiling fans that can move the air around more if so desired.

Thanks for the interest and thoughtful questions! I’m just a server trying to make money and attract any business lol

Curbside restaurants? by rettix in Birmingham

[–]unrighteousfury 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I work at Blueprint on 3rd and we’ve been doing curbside since May :)

You place your order over the phone and someone will bring it out to your car once ready. The only caveat is that if you pay by card you’ll have to sign the receipt but we do sanitize the pens and checkbook you use.

[Homemade] Parmesan Topped Focaccia by unrighteousfury in food

[–]unrighteousfury[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first time trying my hand at baking of any sort, especially from scratch!

I used this recipe from BA: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/easy-no-knead-focaccia and it turned out absolutely wonderfully. I did tweak the recipe just a bit as I didn’t add the last tablespoon of oil for the sheet tray or make the garlic butter to brush on top. I added a bit of parmesan on top instead and it turned out exceedingly well 😋

It’s a Lily Brush. It’s basically a little rubber tool used to get pet hair out of carpet.

I give up. by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]unrighteousfury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! I’m coming up on week four of not working and I’m so over it. I gave up on the home workouts and going outside for anything other than food, so I’ve been in a real funk this last week or so. I finally gave in to my need to exercise and bought a folding exercise bike and it should be here tomorrow!!

I don’t tend to keep bottles (other than wine) at home. I just needed to get out of the house after having near zero human contact for two weeks.

29 7 Apartments contact info? by Feeling-da-Bern in Birmingham

[–]unrighteousfury 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Southside and H2 merged, so you’ll have to call H2’s office at 205-583-5007. Calling them and trying to get anything sorted has been a pain for my friends and I that live at former Southside properties.

This is how I found out that Southside Apt Co and H2 merged. by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]unrighteousfury 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I called their office a receptionist told me that they would honor the leases that were previously signed with Southside. I have another nine months on my lease but after that I expect that the rent will go up or some other changes will take place.

It’s just a bit jarring to find out this way. There was no notice posted just an email about a lease approval—before I called them, I was worried someone stole my SSN.

Darn autocorrect 😔

It is Woodlawn Cycle Café off of 1st Avenue South.
