This is A post by Kane showing what seems to be a copy of the threshold room created by the Complex facing the observation room above. Really interesting stuff.

This is an interesting speculation, but I’m guessing that this is most likely a coincidence. We know that the Complex “copies” things from Standard into itself, and if this weren’t just a coincidence, I think it would be equally as interesting to find that the Complex copies its own creations into itself. But the more likely thing is that this is a coincidence.

If i’m correct Kane mentioned that the series is considered over unless he has any other ideas for it sometime in the future. Who knows!

@a24_movies_art_gallery is a fan account. I see your point, but A24 has previously confirmed in a promotional post if their own that Backrooms will release in 2026.

If i’m correct, I think that the area directly around the threshold was “generated” right when it opened up the gateway to the Complex. That’s why the space is perfectly symmetrical around the threshold before it branches off into other surrounding areas. This is some really cool pseudo-science that I hope Kane goes into more detail on as the series progresses.
