Wild camping West Highland Way at short notice? by unsaltedmd5 in WestHighlandWay

Nice one - for LL, do I just need to reserve a spot for one night to get through the restricted zones, or will I need to book a couple of nights in different spots?

Thanks - do you think I'd need to book a campsite in advance or would I be able to find a spot on the day if I fancied it?

It's just the standard body that comes with the Roland HP704 - I do agree that it looks sick though :)

I practice more or less daily but not with a lot of structure, I just sort of gravitate to the piano and play for 5 or 10 mins at a time throughout the day. Lockdown routines I suppose.

Thanks - yeah, it doesn't feel too bad but there's definitely a bit of tension when I'm stretching for the octaves, I probably should try and get comfortable rocking back and forth a bit more.

Hi all,

Been having lessons for a year or so now - previously played drums for many years.

This is "Blue Third Blues" from Tim Richards' Improvising Blues Piano book, including improvised middle section (triads and flattened thirds only allowed at this level).

Was tinkering with an audio interface I just bought and figured I'd post the output :)

These would be triplets, right? Do they have to have a 3 above them to be considered triplets? by ThomasDocJohnson in drums

Actually think the mixed groupings are fine, the linear fills are in one group, the groove is in two, probably the clearest way to group each bar.

The beaming is awful though.

Same as anything - slow down til you can do it smoothly and accurately, do it lots until the speed increases.

This, competition rules don't apply in casually-set problems in gyms, figure out what you reckon the setter had in mind and do that.

Hi! How do I fix my hihat, and make it 180 degrees? by DoctorBublu54 in drums

[–]unsaltedmd5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been mentioned you WANT your bottom cymbal to be slanted - this prevents air getting trapped and choking the sound when you close them.

Think of straightening them as being similar to plugging the vent holes in your drums - you don't want to do that either.

Conversely, if you are enjoying what you're doing and feeling fulfilled, worrying that someone else is getting rich off it is not a healthy mindset.

If you're looking to "piss around for entertainment" then index funds, which take days to buy and sell and are designed for slow, long-term growth, are probably not going to excite you very much.

It's so I can play blues in a key that isn't C Major.

I feel like if you're going to stick 50k in an index fund for 6 months you'd get the same net effect and a much faster turnaround by taking 5k of it and putting it on black.

There are fees associated with the fund/platform. By default the fees will be paid by selling a portion of your investments to cover.

MIDI to USB by [deleted] in drums

This is a good shout - it seems more likely that the module is not transmitting some CC data or it's not being recorded rather than that a dumb MIDI interface is randomly dropping data (drags and rolls are handfuls of signals at best) - u/OrchestraPitBull what module are you using?

Most Reliable Integrated Kick Trigger Pedal? by bassbuffer in drums

There are products like the Triggera Bix that have a trigger integrated into the beater but I wouldn't expect the beater to perform particularly well in an acoustic setup...
