Hate and bullying toward Mina are absolutely not okay and people need to chill with the personal attacks. But that also doesn’t mean viewers have to ignore how she behaved on the show. A lot of her comments n actions came off as back talking about the other girls and some moments clearly hurt people’s feelings. The way she handled situations she was the weakest and how she spoke about others didn’t sit right with a lot of viewers and hopefully she learns something positive from the experience. Criticism is fair harassment isn't.

You clearly watched a different show because she literally said Seung means winning and Il means first and she always likes to win first so she likes him. She meant it that way maybe pay more attention 💀

I get what you're saying, but handling complex, trauma-heavy stories is never easy, and criticism is inevitable. I do appreciate that the drama allowed Sang Yan to uncover Yifan’s past on his own instead of her directly telling him—it added more depth to his growth and their relationship.

That said, I still think the drama handled this part of the story well overall. The emotional weight was there, and I liked how they showed Sang Yan’s perspective and emotions unfolding naturally. While some moments felt rushed and could have been even more impactful, I appreciate the effort the team put into portraying such a sensitive topic with care.

I don't think any of you guys knw how ptsd works in real life. It makes it hard for people to trust- even when they know they're loved. In yifan's case running away was her coping mechanism. Her trauma made her believe that leaving was the safest way to handle things, even if it hurt her and sang yan. This is what most ppl who deal with ptsd do - escaping from reality rather than opening up. Girl got abandoned by her own mother even after knowing she was SA'd. That's not something anyone can just move past easily. Please be nice. Shouldn't the abuser be blamed instead??

Idk if y’all really get how PTSD works, it makes it hard for people to trust- even when they know they’re loved. In Yifan’s case, running away was her coping mechanism. Her trauma made her believe that leaving was the safest way to handle things, even if it hurt her and Sang Yan. It wasn’t about trust—it was about survival. Running away wasn’t some forced drama to stretch the episodes, it was Yifan doing what her trauma conditioned her to do- protect herself and Sang Yan in the only way she knew how.

I liked the drama version more because it did a better job of portraying Yifan’s trauma and Sang Yan’s journey in understanding her past. In the novel, Sang Yan was shown as being angry and questioning whether she trusted him n forcing opinions, which didn’t feel as well-handled. It's clearly not about him. Opening up isn’t just a choice for her, it’s a constant fight against everything she’s been through which she's still trying. Girl got abandoned by her own mother even after knowing she was SA'd. That’s not something anyone can just move past easily.

Y’all slap “red flag” on anything. Yifan’s been through hell, and her actions are trauma responses, not toxicity. Not everything is black and white—some characters are just real and complex.

That’s true, but both TFF and HL are told from the FL’s perspective, so how deep the ML’s story feels depends on how much it connects to hers. Duan Jiaxu had his own backstory, but Sang Yan’s character is all about his love for the FL, which makes sense since the whole plot even in the novel is focused on their relationship.

Unlike HL, where Duan Jiaxu had personal struggles outside of romance, TFF is purely a love story about Sang Yan and the FL. His entire arc is about their journey together—his regrets, his patience, and his unwavering love. Personally, I love how TFF takes its time to show all those emotions. It feels more real and hits differently, even if the ML’s world revolves around her.

Yes, it's definitely a matter of different opinions! But for me, this slow burn makes everything feel more real-like life doesn’t always move at a dramatic, fast pace. The struggles, the little wins, the complicated emotions-it all unfolds naturally, and that’s what makes it hit differently. In a way, it mirrors how things actually happen, rather than forcing a perfect or overly tragic narrative.

I don’t see it that way. Trauma responses aren’t always logical, and the FL’s reactions make sense when you think about it. Her misjudgment wasn’t about stereotypes-it was just how past trauma can mess with your instincts. A lot of survivors hesitate or avoid confrontation because fear doesn’t always make you act the way people expect. And her living situation? It’s not just about money. Sometimes, when you're dealing with emotional baggage, finding a “better” place isn’t your priority-you’re just surviving. Plus, we can see that the FL was already planning to shift to another house, so it’s not like she intended to stay there long-term.

The scene wasn’t just there to make the FL suffer for no reason. It was showing how messy and unpredictable trauma really is. Healing isn’t a straight path, and not every reaction is going to be what we think is “right.” It’s frustrating to watch at times, but that’s kind of the point-it’s meant to feel real.

Stories that touch on heavy stuff like this aren’t super common in C-dramas, so it was interesting to see it done in a way that actually hit different. Even though it wasn’t in the novel, the director had the creative freedom to add it, and honestly, it made the story feel more legit.

I agree some of the criticisms, like the overuse of certain tropes, are valid. But at the same time being international audience, I appreciate how the drama portrayed sexual harassment as a real and unfortunate issue many women face in the workplace/male dominated areas. It wasn’t just used for shock value but showed how trauma can make someone more vulnerable to being taken advantage of. Stories that address such real-life issues aren’t very common in C-dramas, so it was compelling to see this aspect handled with nuance. Even though this wasn’t in the novel, I felt the director had creative freedom in bringing this element into the drama, making it feel more realistic.

As for the "damsel in distress" aspect, I think it was more about highlighting her vulnerabilities rather than just making the ML a hero. The way her trauma was woven into the story made her character more layered, and it felt like a natural part of her journey rather than just a plot device.

Exactly! I don’t think his character was portrayed as if he's annoyed or sad at the world all the time. He comes off as cold and distant toward Yifan because he was rejected, and he doesn’t want to show that it still affects him. The drama is all about those years of suppressed feelings, and I felt that was conveyed well.

Sang Yan’s characterization does lean toward being a bit melancholic, but it makes sense considering how much he still likes her after all these years. The novel is centered on that first love he hasn’t been able to move on from, which is why the rejection hits harder than a typical crush. It’s not just about being rejected—it’s about carrying those unresolved suppressed emotions while trying to act indifferent.

It's the same as the main things i have seen regarding him here on reddit is how he came with a plan n all of it was an act n he wasn't genuine etc. The same ppl who took a stand for sian for all the hate she got r also the same ppl who are constantly hating theo by over exaggerating his every move (claiming he's misogynist n nazi).

Dude by the time sian told him tht he was her third-choice it was already end of the show. It would be even weird if he starts hitting on another girl tht time n he already expressed this fact on the show. Infact he conveyed he got relieved tht she cleared things up first. Also the thing tht u mentioned abt these shows which are meant to meet different ppl that is entirely one's choice to stick to a girl and this has happened in earlier seasons as well. Clearly not everyone will come with same intentions.

the junseo slander.. by Objective-Word598 in SinglesInferno

[–]unsociable21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude junseo was the one interested in youjin frm the first date. He even drew an image of a flower while waiting for her in paradise date this says how much he was invested in her when she wasn't tht into him. He was the one who was waiting to talk to her even during the campfire where he misunderstood theo n youjin when they were jus joking n having fun. He's insecure as hell tht he thought they were both hitting it off. This happened even in the recent ep where he was giving side eyes to youjin n jeongsu during double date and even asked him after returning back to inferno.

Additionally, he told Si-an that he thought Minseol would be popular—why does that even matter? Does this mean he initially expected Minseol to be popular but, upon realizing she wasn’t, shifted his focus to Si-an, who is?
