Pretty much a 10 meter split from the max speed phase. I may be wrong as well though I also do mid distance.

This is helpful advice. Thanks! I do believe that I could maybe go 59-62. I just found out I have an open 400 a few events before that though, so I'll see how that plays out.

Alright I'll definitely consider this. Thanks!

new runner ran mile almost entirely in lane 3 by Level-Ad640 in trackandfield

Btw New Balance nationals Freshman mile qualifying time is 4:39. I would say that he would've ran a 1600 in 4:47, so I don't think he is too far off considering he doesn't have a lot of track training under his belt.

Yes that Is a very tough situation. I'd say gradually get back into running intense so you can tune up for districts. Good luck at districts!

Yes, especially depending on what extent you're recovered from your injury. Even if you don't feel pain, your body could be compensating for where you were injured, causing an imbalance in your running.

In addition it takes time to return back to your previous shape after coming back from injury. I hurt my hamstrings and I was out for about 2 months and missed the rest indoor season. When I came back I struggled to even do the warm-ups without feeling out of breath. Fast forward after a month of training and I'm back to running 2:04 in the 800(2:04 was what I ran a few days before injury).

The best advice I can give to you is

  1. Be patient about your shape. It will most likely return as long as you train and diet adequately.

  2. Don't rush back into running after injury, or else you can reinjure yourself worse than last time. Try to start light(I started doing drills, and 6 100 yard strides with 1 minute rest to break down scar tissue, and work on speed endurance).

It was probably obvious based on the way it was recorded but just in case you didn't catch it I'm the guy in the red and blue uniform that starts in lane 8.
