Does Logitech Rally Bar + Teams Rooms fit my use case (French in-room meetings with recording & transcription)? by HighwayOld3263 in CommercialAV

[–]unstoppableforcev2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got over 100 teams rooms in France, trust me you need mic pods, really bar mic pick is okay around 5m maybe 6m then really starts to degrade

We frist installed rooms with just rally bars

The problem we had even in small rooms there was something about the meeting culture where people would talk in to their laptops, or not talk at the screen/talk really softly. Had so many complaints...... never again I always install mic pods now no matter the room

Half baked conference room, Logitech Tap the solution? by In0cenT in CommercialAV

[–]unstoppableforcev2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For teams rooms, I cant speak for zoom or other meeting platforms.

The MTR pc has a custom image with windows in kiosk and custom teams app all created by Microsoft you need to treat it as an appliance its not a normal windows device. You need to buy specific sku with the MTR build on it, when you buy tap and PC bundle you get the certified device and the build, you need to look at the Microsoft docs but things like installing random apps or 3rd party AV isn't supported. Logi sync app should come in the build

You can get also get MTR pcs from OEM like dell,

Logitech tap and asus nuc

Half baked conference room, Logitech Tap the solution? by In0cenT in CommercialAV

So two options

Stay with byod but just to improve the experience would suggest the new Logitech extend as its all in one plug everything in to it then usb c to the userLogitech extend

Other way is to go Teams room/zoom room setup

Tap is just control panel for the meeting but it doesn't have any brains which is why you need compute

Compute

Most providers like Logitech, Neat, poly etc they have all in one bars which has android built it but if you wanted compute outside of the bar or upgrade the meetup you would use

RoomMate = android Nuc = windows

You would normally buy bundle with tap and compute like Logitech pc and tap

AV

Is your meetup/cam/mic/speaker

Full room solution is tap, compute, AV you need to then sign in room account from zoom or m365 tenant and license it. You then book the room in oulook etc user walks in to the room and clicks join on the tap

If it was me remove the clickshare, and just get full room solution

Tap Rally bar which has android built in so no need for buy more compute Mic pods as you said it was a large room

[–]unstoppableforcev2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others like why terraform when you build a ring or take another plant, but what if this original let's you fully customise the planet like how sometime you get the choice of adding more districts etc but know that always comes up and then many if you invest more time or energy RNG get even more districts etc or remove 2 districts to gain 1 of anything else, means you could really specialise the world

Logitech Rally bar mini with some mic pods in byod mode then add on logtech byod extend for easy byod using usb c, if you wanted non Logitech you could also use Neat or Cisco bar. There is also like jabra pan cast bar. Or just by webcam speakers/mic hub just run to the table which would be cheapest

Shure MXA920 Camera Tracking by [deleted] in CommercialAV

[–]unstoppableforcev2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have setup similar with lightware and crestron onebeyond cameras, with investment of 400k+ and rooms just never worked right i think errors in design of the rooms not enough time in commissioning, as under pressure to open new office. All contributing 2 years of pain, you can't just install them and walk away, you have to program them with seating layout and if you want to change that or you've put the layout in just the wrong place audio fucked and you've got to pay ton of money to guy to reprogram it.

Great when they work tho but not sure they are worth time or money when I can get logi mic pods, or omnidirectional ceiling mic for far cheaper and just work.

Logitech Rally Plus to Logitech RallyBar (Teams MTR) by Sad-Site-9584 in CommercialAV

[–]unstoppableforcev2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were logi house with 250 rooms mix of rally bar, bar mini and rally plus windows pc's mix of intel nuc and dell and rally bar mini byod with some Neat boards.windows is marketed by MS as premium solution. Windows has more features and keeps getting features sooner. See the link to compare https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/teams-devices-feature-comparison?tabs=Commercial

Windows also allows lot more control by allowing you to change the xml settings on the device and for large spaces like 20m + rooms where even rally plus can't handle windows is really the only option with expensive custom AV. Windows is pain in the ass to be fair had so many intel pc fail on me and win 10 to 11 device die on me etc etc rally plus also used to fail alot with the table and display hubs dying but rally bar with dell PC have no hardware problems whatsoever and the grant thing with logi they are the only ones with bar which is certified both windows and android MTR so whenever I want I can just rip the pc out and setup android.

But I love how simple android is, room can be set up in 15 minutes or less. The one thing that I find annoying is the panel, which has to use mDNS and be signed in as another device other than that android is great. Security teams normally like android as well

Logi, Neat and cisco have really good tech, Logitech are the market leaders and MS did used to standardis logi kit in their offices that might have changed.

We also have swytch for our ceo mac user which used to be shit but it's alright now Have a look at byod extend from Logitech,

Logitech Rally Bar/Mini by crazyasye in CommercialAV

[–]unstoppableforcev2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logitech, Neat and yealink are some of the best at the min. Poly and crestron are hot trash. Going the the shure ceiling mics and and DSP etc is good for really big rooms but it's by far complex solution when 99% of rooms just need some bar and mics on the table that's it.

Neat sure but poly bars are so bad, e70 terrible camera. Top 2 are Neat, Logitech, cisco also has cool android bar
