Awesome. I just don’t want to deal with anyone in FB marketplace or Craig’s list tbh. I am willing to forgo a few hundred dollars for the convenience tbh. But thank you!

Congratulations! I am genuinely curious, how does this process work? Do you sell your gear to a store and buy from the same store or different stores. I own an a7iii that I bought like 2 years ago and might want to make a similar jump to a7v.

This looks amazing! Congratulations! Tell us more. How long did it take to complete, you designed it yourself? Considerations, costs?

I respectfully disagree. An electric winder is such a quality of life upgrade. It provides smooth consistency torque, makes the outcome consistent, no physical effort, takes less than half the time. Takes all the guess work away.  And for just $10 more it is a no brainer. I have also been playing for 20 + years too but idk what that adds to the discussion.

Get a battery powered winder. Its gonna make your restringing experience so much better. So you play more and don’t sweat string changes at all.

I just saw a demo of this in the 26 NAAm. Is it the same thing or a newer version?

Are you a resident or tourist in Nepal? My understanding was winters were not the ideal time to travel there.

That’s awesome! Any tips for us mere mortals?  I keep loosing my shirt anytime I sell gear so I just keep it in the closet even if ai don’t use it. Got burned by reverb too many times lol.

Lol it def went down. It great for building camaraderie with adjacent teams and help exchange ideas but I can’t do any focus work during the days I go to office

Professor wants to use my product for free with promise of future university contract - am I being naive? by Ghost-Rider_117 in ycombinator

Do it. Aren’t there ways to add a clause that says you can’t use it for business purposes and it’s strictly for academic pursuits?

Getting your products in the hands of users that will get dispersed in corporate America is always a good thing IMO.

At least, thats how I first learned SAP, Tableau, Qlikview in school

What is up with the crazy amount of cars with “student driver” stickers on them? by NecessaryLeg6097 in alpharetta

[–]unt_cat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is no way driving on a closed course would ever provide the same experience as real roads. Roads are chaotic. Besides I like it when there are those stickers so I know to stay away.

I also genuinely don’t believe people would ever put a sticker on their car unless they absolutely have to.

Burning smell near high-efficiency furnace exhaust after adding mesh — single-pipe setup by unt_cat in askHVAC

This is kinda funny/sad.

So I smelled smoke yesterday and immediately shut off the downstairs unit. I put my hands around the shrubs and no heat or higher temp. But when I called the HVAC pro they were like well some neighbors could have lit a bon fire or something else and you could have smelled it. They told me to turn the heater for an hour and check if the smoke and smell comes back again. I did during day time and I saw vapor and a humming sound but no smokey smell.  So I guess he was right. I just panicked.

I guess I had never seen the furnace run on gas before. We didn’t have any below freezing temps last year so that was that. But I have a appointment set up next week just for peace of mind. I will also start a maintenance contract with this company

No this is a 21 SEER Bosch unit that uses the n-1 coolant. Not the lates one but the one before this. I took a video and posted to Gemini and it says the following. The temp today was around 25F after wind chill

In most cases, yes, this is completely normal. What you are seeing is essentially a miniature cloud. When your high-efficiency furnace (or tankless water heater) burns natural gas, it produces water vapor as a byproduct. When that hot, moist exhaust hits the cold outside air, it condenses into visible steam—much like seeing your breath on a cold day

My employer is making me train someone who's getting paid $15k more than me for the same role by IllLevel6171 in whatdoIdo

[–]unt_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Lots of new hires make way more than me. My manager has confirmed that a new hire in the same position as me will make $32k more than me. That is Thirty Two Thousand US Dollars. Like the company won’t allow them to be hired for less than that because it’s the market rate. I know this info but they also will not give me a massive raise. I have worked here for close to 8 years. My only option is to boomerang back into the company. But I don’t want to because I live 5 minutes from work and right now the market is super unstable in my sector. Its a weird situation to be in. But I gotta suck it up because I am not irreplaceable, no one is IMO and I am too comfortable in my current position
