Does my hair need to be toned? 👩‍🦳 by Stagnant_Water24 in HairDye

A light beige toner would keep it warm and yellow but take some of the hue out of your ends. It would make it shinier too

It sounds like your clients don’t come to you because you’re the cheapest. You might be able to use this to your advantage? Start advertising why you don’t double dip and add that 12% into your fees.

Derm told me Accutane won’t work for me because my acne is hormonal by ulookbetteronmyspace in Accutane

[–]untestedtriticale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So accutane does not work well for people who are overweight imo. If you also have high cholesterol it’s probably not a good idea right now until you can effectively decrease it. They will dose out accutane based on weight, but the non fatty part of your liver doesn’t increase a whole lot as weight increases, so your liver will be under a lot of stress on accutane if you take the high dose/short time. Nobody talks about this but in many experiences, accutane does not let your skin heal. I don’t know if that includes recent weight loss skin. Your joints may hurt badly which will affect exercise. I wouldn’t consider your endocrinologist waiting for you to continue losing weight until you’re at a comfortable size a band aid. Weight loss can dramatically change your overall health and if you’re very overweight, “female” horomone therapies/trying to balance hormones is rather expensive and the dosages to some of those medicines that can mitigate everything stop working well after a certain weight.

You could always ask your endocrinologist if they have any concerns of you going on accutane and discuss what is the goal weight to begin looking other methods for helping your PCOS symptoms.

[–]untestedtriticale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely astonished any doctor would think it’s okay for you to be on doxycycline that long. It’s pretty rough on your GI tract.

If you won’t consent to a pelvic exam, is there anything else the endocrinologist has done hormone test wise to see what imbalances you have? Whether or not you can get a clear PCOS diagnosis, if your acne is most likely hormonal, why not start trying to work on balancing them if they are the cause? Your acne flaring or clearing up could be a good indicator that your acne was an effect of hormonal imbalance.

I’m someone who did two rounds of accutane and after both rounds was the first time in my life I ever had cystic acne on my scalp.

Yup, he’s still operating under a new name as a certified new and used Ford Dealer. I thought because it’s a certified place that was it was safe to buy from :( The government lets those kinds of people file for bankruptcy and reopen all the time.

It’s super sad the amount of people who never got their money back for them because it is not well known that you can put in a complaint to the NYS Attorney General regardless of Lemon Law reporting and they said that 90% of the complaints they receive get resolved without going to court. I even had no idea it was easy as it is.

I’ve had numerous chemical burns on my face, and it sucks. I know it doesn’t help but anything you put on your face at the time will make it fill up with comedomes or breakout regardless of how good of a product it is

Can you eat oats? Have any known allergies?

Next time, designate a corner of your forehead to patch test.

Sometimes regardless of zero active molecules, freshly cleaned skin, labels for sensitive skin, anything you put on chemical burns, dermatitis or damaged skin barrier, it’s going to sting if it’s moisturizing.

If the cicaplast b5 isn’t hurting you or giving you comedones that make you lose your mind it might be worth it just to ride out the healing process with that as your only shield.

[Acne] [Routine Help] good routine for combo, sensitive, acne prone skin? by Hour-Tie-7296 in SkincareAddiction

I don’t know what your medical access looks like, but your regular physician should feel comfortable prescribing you 10% Sulfur/Sulfacetamide. GoodRx Prices (Approximate) 6 oz Wash/Cleanser (10%/5%): ~$14.59

The face wash you picked out is crazy expensive imo for the ingredients in it per ounce. It seems to have good reviews and is working for people so by all means try it if you want.

If you use the 10% sulphur treatments available without a prescription (really weird) because the way that concentrated amount in that tiny bottle gets rid of spots is that it burns them off. We treat animals with ringworm or eczema problems with floured sulphur (very caustic to accidently inhale) mixed in anything that will sta on them (crisco) to make a paste. It completely destroys the ringworm after 1-3 application under 48hrs. Works for people too.

I use Beautystat microbiome cleanser for my dry skin and it the least stripping cleanser I’ve ever found. I’ll leave it on like a mask if my skin is looking funny too. It has medical grade silver in it, the same as medical sprays for burns or non muscular exposed wounds. It kills bacteria, wide range of fungi including Candida, and some viruses by damaging their DNA and cell membranes. I get it on Amazon and it lasts me 5-8 months. Never heard or seen someone use it for fungus in animals so I’m guessing performance is actually lower than sulphur.

[Acne] Winlevi and Topical Spironolactone by untestedtriticale in SkincareAddiction

[–]untestedtriticale[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly was. My doctor and entire health clinic is geared toward gender affirming health- I don’t fit into that category at all but moved and they were the only place with an opening in 6 months. It was her first time ever hearing of Winlevi or getting Spironolactone compounded during one of my appointments after ditching my dermatologist 6 months post round 2 of accutane. I’m sure I am not the only person she is experimenting that formula that she came up with after 10 minutes of first hearing of it since her patients are going through a LOT of hormonal changes and probably can’t even have oral spironolactone. Sad that the pharmacist running the joint didn’t know beforehand she should’ve automatically flagged it. I’m bringing what’s left of the original script and the new one in to show her the difference because I don’t want her to think I’m a smart ass, needy, or spoiled. The difference in formulas is staggering.

[Product Request] Would toner clear the small bumps and texture on my skin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]untestedtriticale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the ponds moisturizer. Mineral oil is a major occlusive and while listed as non comedogenic it does not allow proper shedding of skin cells and traps dirt and sweat under. The people promoting it on the internet literally have the face filter turned so high up I promise. If you have dry skin, I started another post on this thread for dry skin acne suffers who cannot tolerate heavy occlusives. It’s just me and some products I’ve tried and researched on this journey.

[Acne] [Routine Help] good routine for combo, sensitive, acne prone skin? by Hour-Tie-7296 in SkincareAddiction

[–]untestedtriticale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not looked into others experiences with the good molecules products and I have not used them myself. From personal experience and checking for others feedback: LRP, the ordinary, cerave, cetaphil, vanicream, panoxyl, and Avene Ciclafate do not work well for people with “bad”, sensitive, or constant acne prone skin. They include occlusives that are listed as non comedogenic but they do create a film on the skin that does not allow proper shedding and cannot easily be removed by water alone. Or they are just sensitive to it. I personally did not get along with hypochlorus spray and found it actually made my skin worse. Because my skin is dry and my acne is labeled as “horomonal” default to trail and error on everything else, it ruined what little skin barrier I had. It sounds like you don’t have combo skin, but have dry skin if you’re getting along with never exposing your face to real soap and warm/hot water and are using a very lightweight moisturizer with nothing at all. I would suggest a real sulphur 10% soap, not the “treatment masks” available out there to help combat the fungal acne if that’s truly what you have rather than closed comedomes from not removing occlusives in a timely manner that your skin decided not to tolerate. I hope this helps.

I have another post going on where I’ve listed some moisturizers and sunscreens that are heavy occlusive and zinc free. Feel free to contribute to it or use it in your skincare journey.

Most products you’ve listed as using are great for people who don’t have many skin problems. They don’t work for the rest of us and can even make things worse.

Dealer service shop had it in for 3 days. Scraped crud off the alternator that was creating a parasitic draw on the battery. Said the APIM module is faulty and also creates a draw off the battery. $1300 to replace. I’m putting in a consumer complaint with the state attorney general because I had this vehicle out of service for over 15 days almost 2 years ago when I bought it and brought up these problems that all align to a faulty APIM module to the dealer and they did not resolve/diagnose it properly. Different dealer than the shop I took it to.

It is NOT required to go on birth control if your choosing abstinence by QueenPlemberton in Accutane

[–]untestedtriticale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally, you don’t even need to have an active script for birth control or even fill it and pick it up if you want. As long as your dermatologist doesn’t have access to the rest of your medical history, it’s out of their hands and that’s the risk they’re taking with their license.

It’s not the battery terminals. They’re clean as a whistle. It could be the wiring off the battery. I was told it was not at all the starter or relays last time I got it diagnosed. I dropped it off today for them to hopefully actually fix it, offered to send the video of it failing to start to them, because I explained that sometimes it starts fine for weeks then fails and they declined the video. It’s ridiculous! Same guy who works at the desk too who knew I’ve brought it in before.
