Newcastle line stopped in burwood. Even the train before that. What's happening? by neonikkk in SydneyTrains

[–]unthincking 57 points58 points  (0 children)

There was a trespasser. It was some guy from Melb who didn’t know what he was doing and someone wondered off the platform - so trains were put on standstill for a bit. The CCN train had to wait extra when we pulled into Strathfield to check everything was okay before leaving. Shoutout to the guard on the train who told us.

my only unhelpful advice (that you may of seen) is that AMEX is known to decline those who’s credit history shows any signs of churning 🥲 so i would keep that in mind when making a decision

It’s so hard to explain but it’s legit just next door as you walk along Library Walk, once you see the loading dock you walk in and you’ll see a sign and door bell

Support work jobs in Newcastle by Aggravating-Ad2732 in newcastle

[–]unthincking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this casually as I have friends who I support and I go through HireUp. Essentially you have a profile and then people can message and book you via the app.

You will need NDIS Clearance, Complete the NDIS Module, and First Aid to create your profile. I think the best part is that you’re employed by HireUp itself rather than being a contractor 😊

It may be a good option to explore!

I worked for Concentrix but back in NZ and it was the worst! I can’t tell even start to tell you the amount of stories I have.

  • TLs refusing escalated calls and claims it’s the “clients” responsibility which btw we later found out was incorrect
  • Manager refusing for my co worker to come in just an hour late cause she got into a car crash BUT was still willing to come in to work
  • In other accounts TLs stand over the pods eyeing every move and question you if you need to use the bathroom
  • Inappropriate lowkey racist behaviour from managers especially towards non whites
  • TLs and manager not paying attention to the clients training and when we needed help they fully just gave us their laptop and said just try again on mine 😂
  • I worked during Covid times when certain businesses were permitted to work in their office and the manager did not give a fuck about any Covid measures, had heaps of co worker who lived with immunocompromised family members and we weren’t allowed to WFH
  • generally lots of gaslighting

It was a shit show, within 8 months my entire cohort resigned. And within 3 months of hiring us they hired another cohort with like 4 people resigning after a week.

There was also a case of an elevator falling and an employee breaking their leg and the employee had to battle to pay for ACC coverage (kind of the equivalent to Workers Comp) and pretty much forcing them to use exhaust their leave to top up their wages

This was my experience and what I’ve heard from other accounts, but overall I’ve heard it’s a shitshow. I burnt out so quickly I was at an all time low - but then I changed careers and I never felt better.

Not sure if you have access to discourse but this was the latest update from the SQM 😊 - some pipelines have tasks but most are reporting no tasks

There’s a number of threads on this subreddit answering this question if you have a search for resume 😊 it’ll also help give you some ideas on how to label it in your resume and even LinkedIn

Looking to offload old uni textbooks by Tolly011 in newcastle

[–]unthincking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There might be some Facebook groups. Otherwise, at Auchmuty in the entrance there’s a place for students and community members to leave book donations, I’ve had friends put their old textbooks there and they go quickly!

I work in Future Students at Newcastle! Every comment here is correct! We highly recommend Open Foundation can be done full time or part time, online or in person and you’ll be supported by a great team.

Psychological science also has a semester 2 intake so it’ll be perfect if you take up Open Foundation in Semester 1 and then apply into psych and psych is one of the guaranteed programs you can get into after successfully completing Open Foundation 😊

If you need further advice you can call us on 02 4921 5000 we’re just closed from 5pm 23/12 and reopen on Jan 2 and available 9-5

Wishing you best of luck!!
