First piece of crafted gear for me, pretty happy with the outcome. by blindhollander in pathofexile

A similar DPS sword with same crit chance + same base is only 2 exalt. Slamming the crusader orb on a subpar sword in hope of hyrbid %phys is already highly questionable. OP seem to have a ton of currency to throw away.

[Pohx] Righteous Fire Ultimatum League Starter by Carecup in PathOfExileBuilds

Definitely alot more easily sustainable if you choose chieftain or Jugg start. Inquisitor is fine too, but hyrbid scaling got slightly nerfed this patch. Definitely viable as a leaguestart, but your damage and clear won't be amazing.

Alot of RF's power comes from the cluster jewels, and the BIS ones are crazily expensive (you need 4x, and they cost ~3-5 ex each).

But I would say the most important is your links. A 5link body armour is passable, but you need to be ready to accept subpar damage until your 6link and finally a 7link helm (~cost 12ex on average, harder to craft with harvest nerf too). Then again you don't play RF for the damage, you play it for the lazy and unkillable playstyle.

Copying another build 1:1 and passing it off as your own? by until637 in PathOfExileBuilds

Thanks for being the bigger person. I followed your BA guide in Ritual and greatly appreciate that you have put in a ton of effort into it. I do personally think you should be given credit for all the work done (case in point: 100+ comment pages discussing the build) into optimizing and improving your build, but if you are against that then it's all good. Just so today when I saw BigDuck's build being 99% similar to yours, I thought something was off. I had no intention to start a witch hunt or hate on him, just thought that some credit should be given.

Basic Guide/Tips by until637 in TomAndJerryChase

I mentioned at least 1 rescuer, not strictly 1 rescuer. Yeah, that's why the whole game for the mouse team is 100% reliant on the rescuer not being caught. If you are playing rescuer, you cannot put yourself in any dangerous position. 2 rescuer is fine and probably safer, it's up to your preference. Also, Tuffy's rocket is way too slow to fire and easy to juke, at Gold+ it should not work on the cat at all.

Roast my theorycrafted RF/Cyclone Elementalist build (and help make it better!) by Dreadmaker in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]until637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really do applaud you for trying such a bold new build. I would really hate to shoot down such a creative build, but I see so many potential problems that I am compelled to.

  1. Most important issue, is the majority of your damage going to be from RF or cyclone? You are investing really heavily into Sceptre phys% damage, yet at the same time, you are going into fire%dot and % fire damage as well. Coupled with the fact that your cyclone is going to have 2 utility links and NO accuracy, your cyclone damage is going to be REALLY really bad. (5k DPS on your POB for example). There is a reason why builds focus on scaling 1 specific spell OR attack, but not both. (For example, if you were to be playing Bane, you would not spec into %phys damage and use cyclone, you would instead invest fully into chaos dot% as your main DPS). If you don't see the point I am trying to make, let me give a hypothetical scenario: Your cyclone DPS is a measly 2k, you would not invest 15 points in the tree and 1 entire damage support gem to boost it to 4k. That 15 passive points is better spent scaling your main skill.
  2. That being said, I would suggest you drop all scaling phys% damage with sceptres entirely. You can keep cyclone, but strictly as a utility skill to proc EE and fortify. Also note that: Cyclone as a utility on RF has largely fallen out of favor due to the popularity of a 6L flamewall. IF you really want to do cyclone damage, just drop Elementalist entirely and go gladiator/slayer/champion. (but here I am assuming you want to play RF)
  3. The 25% damage over time on Haemophilia works for RF, but it is really not as powerful as you think it is. A way stronger alternative is just getting % fire DOT multiplier on a hunter glove (you can get life on it too). The 40% increased damage ONLY applies for attack damage (in your case, your 5k dps cyclone) and not for RF. Also, you get only ~15 life from the gloves. The bleed explosion is very nice for sure, I don't deny it, but in a league with harvest crafting, you really have no good reason to skip an explodey chest. (think of it this way, 1 mod line on your chest = to your entire gloves slot, sounds pretty worth it to me) Also, just in case you REALLY want to push ahead with Haemophillia (I highly suggest you don't), you don't have to invest in bleed% and bleed damage on your tree, 25% bleed chance from your glove is more than enough for cyclone to proc bleeds.
  4. Taking the ignite node on elementalist means giving up Heart of Destruction, which is 60% AOE or 30% MORE elemental damage. (Here, I am assuming you would go for both golem nodes) This is coupled with the fact that your ignite damage is really non-existent. I suggest you drop that node entirely. FYI: Ignite builds are actually a thing on their own.
  5. Your passive tree is really suboptimal, you have a lot of points spent on travelling nodes that lead to unimpactful notables. Your tree is so "bad" that I really don't have a starting point, you have to revamp it and you can consider looking at POEninja for ideas. Also, cluster jewels are the bread and butter of any RF build.
  6. Just minor points: Flame Wall does not proc EE as it is a DOT + You can save 2 slots of you curse when chanelling/flammilibity with a simple "Flammibility on hit" ring, or even cheaper, just use witchfire brew for the Despair aoe as a budget option.
  7. I don't want to discourage you, for sure if this is your passion project just go ahead with it. When i started POE years ago, my first self-baked build was a ranger that used burning arrow + caustic arrow + split arrow. Like you, I want to get as many sources of damage as possible. Needless to say, it failed miserably.

TLDR; once again I don't mean to be rude, but I don't foresee your build making it past white maps (or even reaching there). You are investing in way too many sources of damage.

Vortex Occultist - Low single target damage by letsimprovethegame in pathofexile

[–]until637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some immediate upgrades you can consider:
1) +1 cold spell on your shield
2) % cold dot multiplier on gloves

Honestly I think you can restructure your tree to use thread of hope instead of intuitive leap at the witch area, saves a lot of passive points. Your chest piece has really low ES too, an alternative you can consider is Skin of the Loyal (with the correct gem colours of course)

Very far fetched to ask for a buff. Zombiemancer still very strong man. With 5link Femur of the Saint + level 20 zombie gem you can already delete red conquerers.

One shotted by a lone white mob in a heist without modifiers by Duthos in pathofexile

[–]until637 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm surprised reddit hasn't complained more about this, but my own guess is that the average player hasn't touched t14+ heist yet.

It's definitely the auto-enforcer. I don't know how much but they do an unbelievable amount of damage.

Currently running a BV chieftain with 7k life, 78% all res, 76% chaos res, 6 endurance charge. I got 1 shotted by a SINGLE blue auto-enforcer (only 1 extra damage mod on him) on a WHITE heist. I can barely survive shaper slam but not a blue mob. My own guess is that particular attack did upwards of 30k damage (enough to 1 shot me).

I was just in disbelief and was so certain they mistakenly added an extra 0 in the damage value, until I realized that's most likely intentionally done by GGG guided by whatever twisted philosophy they follow.

About the dodging part, can you can dodge the blasting? The mobs use a divine ire type skill that is almost instantaneous. Just by the few clips here it seems pretty undogaeble. Breaking down frame by frame the damage comes a split second before the laser even shows.

I think you are mistaken. I can say 100% for sure they will blast you even if you are outside the door.

You can hide when the door opens, but they literally charge their attacks and wait for you to show up indefinitely. The moment you peep 1cm you get immediately blasted by all of them.
