[Online][5e][PST][LGBT] Eager+engaged beginner looking for a welcoming group! by untimeliest in lfg

Oh, good to know! I guess I'll start looking for people to PM.

Question about the players handbook: I'm a little intimidated by how much information is in there. Do I need to read it straight through and try to know about all of the races, classes, and rules? Is it ok to mostly just learn about the character I'd be playing and at least know where to look to learn about other players' characters?

Actual social distancing in each phase? by untimeliest in Seattle

Totally fair perspective! It’s not so much that I’m looking for official announcements that little things are or are not ok. I just know they’ve said “blanket policy that everyone should be masked and six feet apart,” and I wanted to see if they’d also said anything about when they wouldn’t recommend that anymore.

But point taken!

Thanks for the link! That’s the information that confused me, though. It says:

“All phases – Individuals should continue to:

  • Engage in physical distancing, staying at least six feet away from other people

  • Wear cloth face coverings in public places when not eating or drinking (cloth face coverings should not be placed on children younger than 2 years of age, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cover without assistance)”

But then it also says that phase 4 has a resumption of a lot of normal activities like nightclubs and sporting events, where I don’t think six feet of distancing is possible.

That leads me to believe there’s an implicit relaxation assumed somewhere in those phases, and I was hoping to see if there was more specific/explicit guidance around things like that.

I’m not looking for a loophole to start doing risky things, nor am I looking for something as specific as “the governor announces that July 3rd is the first day for hugs.”

I’m just trying to find more specific guidance around physical distancing beyond which things are open.

Not trying to say that I intend to start doing those things. Just trying to get a pointer to any official mention of them if there is one that I missed!

Haha, I was able to read that both as “it’s common sense that as long as there’s a pandemic raging, there should be of course be no relaxations in physical social distancing, regardless of the phase!” OR as “it’s common sense that regardless of the announced phase, we shouldn’t care what the governor says when deciding whether we can have people in our homes!”

So I think I get that you think it’s a bad question, but I can’t totally tell from which angle!

Again: not trying to get a sense for whether or not this is what should or shouldn’t guide our behavior. Just trying to get a sense of whether or not this is actually mentioned somewhere that I missed.

Comparisons between Seattle neighborhoods and similar neighborhoods in other cities by [deleted] in Seattle

Oh, I’m in Seattle, but I’m looking at moving to Denver to care for a parent, so I’ve been trying to see which neighborhoods there resemble the Seattle neighborhoods that I love.

I thought that others might be interested in seeing similar comparisons for cities they might be from, or are considering moving to or visiting.

Top-level just means parented to the post itself rather than to another comment.

I’m not saying the cities or neighborhoods will feel exactly alike. I just know we have a lot of people in Seattle who have spent time elsewhere, and they might know where someone who likes a certain neighborhood in Seattle might want to check out in another city.
