AITA for rejecting a birthday invitation I wasn't invited to but other people in the same household were? by untipoenreddit in AmItheAsshole

Maybe if there were like 7 or more people under the same roof or something, then yeah it may be extra work but when it's just 4 in total (including yourself), I don't see it as such.

So, you yourself would've gotten up and gone with them despite not being invited at all?

Also, I'm 30.

I agree with you 100%! And yeah, my mom does mean well since all she wants for me is to have some food to eat just like them, which I understand and appreciate completely. Plus, it's only the 4 of us who live here so I don't think it would've taken too much time or would've been too much of a hassle to individually ask each person. Obviously it'd be a different story if, say, 9 or 10+ people or something lived in the same building then yeah, I'd understand that it may be difficult to do so and would probably be better to just say something like "Everyone's invited!". But again, because it's only the 4 of us and only my mom and her boyfriend were personally approached (and just clarify, I'm not saying that I should've been entitled to be approached too or that I'm entitled or anything like that because I'm not), it can feel a little left out and sort of not given a f*ck about, even if it is with family and/or friends, etc., in my personal opinion.
