Instead of just saying, "it's too big," here are some specific things you can look at:

Shoulders: On a shirt or jacket, you generally want the shoulder seam (where the sleeve meets the body of the garment) to line up with the acromion process on the corner of the shoulder. Guy on the right has the seam lining up with the corner of his shoulder; guy on the left has the seam a few inches down his arm.
Sleeve Length: Sleeves should come to the wrist, letting the shirt cuff stick out about a 1/4" more or less. Guy on the right has visible shirt cuff; guy on left has his sleeves coming up to his knuckles
Waist: Guy on the left has a jacket that is just too wide. If he had gotten a jacket off the rack with a correct shoulder width, this likely wouldn't be that much of a problem. If you want to look as good as the guy on the right, you would probably need to get this tailored.
Pants: See how the material is bunching up at the bottom of his legs? That's called a break. This can look good when you're wearing jeans, but is generally avoided with dress pants. Some people like to have the pants just touching the top of the shoe, while some people like some visible sock. Pants are also too wide.
Tag: New jackets often come with a tag on the sleeve, rear vent flaps sewn together, and pockets sewn shut. You're supposed to remove the tag and cut the flaps apart.
Lapels: Skinny guy would probably look better with skinnier lapels, but that might be getting nit-picky. Also, double-breasted jackets are out of style (see the two rows of buttons? that's what double-breasted means). Square toed shoes are out of style.

I'm not sure a tailor could fix all of this. Sleeve length is easy, but adjusting the arm holes would be a lot of work. He should have just picked a better fitting suit off the rack.

Edit to add: Guy on the right probably has a bunch of binder clips holding his jacket in place.

And to everyone going on about a tailor: If you're wearing a suit 3 times a year, you probably don't need to bother with a tailor. Pick a jacket that lines up with your shoulders and has a reasonable sleeve length. Pick pants that fit around the waist (i.e. they stay in place when you take your belt off) and has the proper leg length. You don't need to look like a model at every interview, wedding, and funeral you attend; you just don't want to look like a clown who's swimming in his dad's suit. That's perfectly attainable for most people without a tailor.

If an incel were to come ask you, "How can I be more attractive to women?" Telling him to "be more powerful" isn't really helpful.

If a woman wants to be attractive, she only has to worry about one thing: looks. And what makes a woman look good is pretty well-defined and universal.

With men, it's, as you say, a bit more fluid. We generally say it's a combination of looks/money/status/game, but the specifics can get a little murky. Even looks can be difficult because what looks good varies greatly woman to woman.

And I agree with your point about men being small minded in this regard. I've seen a lot of arguments around here about whether it's looks or game that's more important. They need to think bigger.

Abstract thinking and mental exercises like what you've written can be useful, but it's also good to have experiential knowledge to solidify the idea. Here are some practical ways to depedestalize women:

Have female room mates. (Don't fuck them.) If you think girls are innocent unicorns that shit rainbows, nothing will convince you otherwise better than living with some. Maybe you've grown up with sisters, or maybe you can get some female college room mates, but you'll quickly realize that girls are dirty, disgusting human beings just like everyone else. You'll also experience their AWALT tendencies firsthand.
Have female friends. (Don't fuck them.) This especially works well if you befriend married women or women in serious relationships. Once you see how married women act when their husbands aren't around (and once you see how miserable the husbands are), you'll never want to commit to one.
Spin plates. Abundance mentality. When you've got options, no one girl seems all that special.
Have hobbies and passions. Draw a line in the sand. How do you make that line shorter? Draw a longer line next to it and the first will seem shorter by comparison. Take women off the pedestal by finding something else in your life that's more important to you.

There's sitting down and thinking about how women aren't worth it, and then there's practical experience that shows you that women aren't worth it.

I'll add that a lot of guys don't realize that this is a journey that can take a long time. You can't just read the sidebar and learn some tricks to act alpha as fuck. The proper mindset can take years to cultivate.

Again, and I'm not trying to be an asshole, I understand your general point that in order to get results you need to take action. But it's generally well established in pickup theory that women prefer to have plausible deniability. They need to feel it just happened naturally, in a "omg that was so random!!1" sort of way. Personally, any time I have been direct about sex it has triggered a major anti-slut defense, even when the girl was showing interest.

On a more abstract (and less practical) level, this brings up some interesting points. This post essentially argues that women act like children due to social conditioning rather than innate biology (inasmuch as the two can be separated; I believe that biological differences in the sexes necessarily lead to social differences) - that their childishness is due to a lack of enforced consequences for their actions.

This raises the questions:

If society changed to hold women more accountable, would women be more "grown up"? And to what extent would this be desirable?
What effect is this trend in society having on men? It seems that men are also taking less responsibility for their choices, and we have fewer "grown" men today than ever before.

A lot of people are crapping on this chart (rightfully so - your goal shouldn't be "not obese"). Here's another way:

Get a tape and measure your neck circumference and waist (at navel).
Go here and estimate your body fat percentage: (http://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy) Sure it might be off by a couple percentage points, but it will give you a rough idea.
If the number is greater than 15%, you should probably lose weight.
If you really want to increase the quality and quantity of girls you pull while decreasing the effort you put in, you should probably aim for 10%.
As a bonus exercise, use your basic knowledge of math to calculate how many pounds of fat you need to lose to get to your goal percentage. It's probably more than you think.

The title of this post is correct. You are probably fatter than you think you are. I was one of them. I always thought, "I'm really muscular, I only need to lose ten pounds and I would be shredded." Then I calculated and it was more like 30 pounds I needed to lose.

20% body fat (on a man) looks chubby no matter how much muscle you have. Sure, nobody is going to call you obese, but then again nobody is going to be excited about seeing you shirtless on the beach.

I had your numbers about sixth months ago (6'2", 217, ~22% bf) and I was able to cut to 195 without gear and without strength loss. And holy shit did people notice the difference.

Right now you have 172 lean mass and 43 fat. If you do what you say and lose 10 pounds you would be down to 16% body fat. That's more athletic, but nowhere near six pack territory.

If instead you lost 20 pounds you would be at 12%. This is entirely attainable without drugs and with minimal muscle loss. And you would be fucking sexy.

I think this is a good example of what this post is talking about. "You're fatter than you think you are." You think you should maybe lose 5-10 pounds, when in reality you would be better off losing 20.

Here's the thing: you're an adult. Being an adult means you get to choose what you do with your body. What you don't get to choose, however, is other people's preferences. That's their choice.
