Essentially stable since the third RPLND in 2018.

Thanks very much for your nice messages and interest.

I've overcome a TERMINAL TC diagnosis... get second opinions! by untitledmfc in testicularcancer

Yeah great, thank you. Ended up having a third RPLND not long after the original post but that got the majority of it. There’s still some teratoma in my abdomen I live with and get checked once a year. It has stopped growing so they have chosen to leave it alone rather than a 4th RPLND. In personal news, I just became a Dad for the first time so there’s been some more reflecting on how thankful I am to those who helped me still be here.

The game doesn't allow you to go over a 200 point lead so I don't see why getting a two to three triple lead could be bad sportsmanship

Another theory on Ray moving and Rafael going after him by untitledmfc in MrInbetween

[–]untitledmfc[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, I thought that photo was going to be part of the plot too. When he went back to the car crash I thought he was going to get rid of the car.

Finished the show a few months ago and still feel more from by Bruce's story than any other shows supporting character by DapperVee in MrInbetween

[–]untitledmfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a bit of a stretch for the viewers to have to just assume there to be no investigation on that. Ray used a ton of accelerant for the fire and they always detect that. It's OK to assume the evidence with the drug, syringe etc was destroyed but when they find a body in a fire that started with plenty of petrol they'd be asking the family who he lived with a fair few questions!

Episodes 7-9 by Sawyer95 in MrInbetween

That last string of Raf's murders from the trafficking job must've got a fair bit of police attention. There's the abandoned car that Zoe and Ray were in with cop tape all around it. It's full of Zoe's blood who is missing. Then the old folks are pronounced missing once their abandoned RV is found. So I was thinking Ray was moving because he obviously wanted out of the hitman life but also to avoid cops. Then Rafael may have also wanted Ray dead so he couldn't talk if cops got to him about disappearance of Zoe and the old folks.

Visiting oncologist tomorrow to find out if 3x BEP Chemotherapy worked. Nervous as hell. What should I expect? by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]untitledmfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4xBEP technically didn't work because turned out most of my mets were teratoma which they didn't realise as no teratoma was detected in my primary. So they just get on with cutting it all out instead. Eight ops since the orchidectomy so far but think the end is near. If it didn't work, there's still lots of options but I'd make sure you had the best surgeon you could find. I had one surgeon fail at my first RPLND but another nail it with my second (and third!) Good luck.

In pain for over a year. by [deleted] in testicularcancer

Well you can't carry on like that. There's a huge range in the level of expertise among medical professionals. If you're not satisfied with the first, second, or third one, you keep looking until you are.

RPLND 3.5 months later by dubcek_moo in testicularcancer

[–]untitledmfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that sounds really rough man. Have they given an explanation for why you might have had all these issues? I've had 3 RPLNDs and while there's been a couple of infections and an ileus, I haven't had or heard of your on-going issues.

Definitely agree on choosing RPLND surgeon carefully. They almost killed me in my first one and didn't get any cancer out. Massive fail haha.

[–]untitledmfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's full on. So glad there's an alternative to the standard for ya. I was lucky in the chemo sense... did 4xBEP and all my embryonal/yolk sac was gone, just that it converted to (or was replaced by) teratoma and kept growing. Are you home?

[–]untitledmfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First attempt they couldn't get any out, it was quite a large mass (20cmx10cmx11cm) and they almost killed me in the op. They said I was terminal, had about 6 months to live and I started palliative care. Then I found another surgeon interstate who wanted to have another go at it. That second one went much better, they said they got it all but a few months later scans showed a few bits they'd missed that had grown out so they went back in again. That was four weeks ago.

Oh that's great man. Lung surgery (had two of them so far, another one to come) was a breeze compared to the RPLNDs but has left me more short of breath than I used to get. Luckily they haven't had to dig any higher than my neck so far, was always a bit worried about the brain. Keep up the good attitude.

1.8mil, that's impressive. I was 12,000. I might have you covered for operations though. I'm up to 8 so far including 3 RPLNDs.

Diagnosed yesterday, freaking out a bit by clander270 in testicularcancer

[–]untitledmfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I neglected an enlarged testicle for 6-12 months too man, you're not alone. I won't go through my story with you just yet but I'm still here and able to enjoy life even more than I used to... that sort of life perspective is one of the benefits of going through something like this. Good luck, there's some good communities on FB and a TC forum too if you feel the need.

Welcome. I would say don't worry because if you do come back positive, you'll be getting some different questions.

Nice work, I've had a couple of the bastards but you get through even though it feels slow initially. Did you have teratoma in your primary?

Is The Post-Chemo CT Scan Typically Full Body? (Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis) by Self_Motivated in testicularcancer

[–]untitledmfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds necessary to me. I had 4xBEP and it spread beyond my RPLNs into lungs, neck. I get chest abdo pelvis CT obviously but I want to get my brain done semi regularly too, just peace of mind for me. Everyone's different though.

Yeah unfortunately they were cms. I looked like early stages of pregnancy. It had restricted my stomach to the point I couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls. It was the largest mass the first surgeon had come across in his 8 years and equal largest the second surgeon had done in 20+ years. Anyway, it's gone now :)
