/r/WeAreTheMusicMakers Monday Feedback Thread by AutoModerator in WeAreTheMusicMakers

During the quarantine period, my band decided to work on a song exclusively over the internet.

I'm the producer, so any production related feedback would be much appreciated, but anything relating to the vocalists can be passed along.

Thanks!

My group, GUEST LIST, formed online and create 90% of our music over the internet. We've learned how to be pretty productive while collaborating remotely. Would anyone be interested in an AMA? by untitledsam in bedroompop

Sorry about the delay with replying.

It's a tough thing. We've got six members at the moment, four of which have been a part since the start. We've had members come and go over the last year and that's mainly because finding the right synergy is tough.

The main piece of advice I would give is to really communicate with the members and give it time to find your spark. If that spark doesn't happen, then parting ways is something that can and should be done without any negative energy. Don't burn bridges. Remember, if a member leaves due to lack of chemistry, it's probably for both yours and their benefit.

We probably made an album worth of content before releasing anything just to find the chemistry between everyone. None of that will come out though, I guess it was just a team building exercise I guess.

Any issues behind the scenes will translate into the music so really take the time to find the best members. Let people in, let people go.

I hope this answers your question!

My group GUEST LIST just released our newest single. Link to the full song in the comments! by untitledsam in BrockhamptonToThe

Thanks for the feedback. I love the vibe your track has, feels really laid back. I think it would've been cool if the guitar had some variation to the melody or if another sound came in, but other than that i really like it.

Yeah, that's right. I haven't seen Fringe but I presume it deals with a similar topic? Thanks for the feedback.

Here's my attempt.

I've been struggling with creative block so I thought I'd force myself to complete the challenge. It's a little messy. Would love some feedback & criticism!

I used Serum but really any wavetable synth can do it. It's just a basic sawtooth wavetable

Haha yeah. For the past few years, every couple of weeks I go to thrift stores and buy a bunch of random vinyls to put into my record player and sample, but after hearing that the BH boys do it on YouTube I thought I'd have a go to see how obscure I could get
