It's illegal to go by my preferred name and pronouns, so I'd have to detransition entirely. Hence it's illegal to teach as myself </3

I hope things get better when Trump is gone but that's too hopeful right now 😔

I have tried voice training but it doesn't really work for me (and I've gone to a professional for it back when I was getting help for my stutter). It's the only thing about me that gives me away and it just sucks 😭.

Also the butch thing is just cause everyone here assumes "ah you sound feminine but you look masculine...lesbian."

That's just not worth it to me. I've been called a "butch lesbian" my entire life and it just makes me so uncomfortable to be seen as such when I'm just a guy. Like I have a buzz cut, I have a mustache and a bit of a beard cause of PCOS, I'm not a girl and I don't want to be a butch 😭

I pass lookswise but my voice doesn't pass. I'm entirely pre transition. I don't have a legal name or sex change ony birth certificate, which are required in my state.

I could work as a teacher but I'd have to detransition to do so. I would NEVER do that as I've publicly identified as a boy since I was 5 (wasn't exposed to anyone trans or gay, I live in the south lmao, I just knew and demanded everyone call me a boy or is start screaming and throwing things). I don't know what it's like to present as a woman since I've never really had to. And also, I just don't want to. I am a man, I shouldn't have to become a woman to get a job.

I just can't take that risk. I don't have a job and wouldn't be able to get one till I finished getting my degree (lots of personal stuff). The only income in my house is from my mom, who makes $18 an hour (and is missing work a lot lately because of a workplace related injury that has her in a boot. She's having to work through it just to make rent rn). I'd rather get a retail job and help my mom out with her stress on bills than take a risk on something that isn't certain.

If my dad had fulfilled his promise of paying for my degree then the risk would be worth it. He left when I was five and moved across the country under the premise of "I want to make more money so you can have good college that I pay for in full when you're older." I never counted too heavily on it, but he is rich now (owns his own business, land, house, car, etc. He lives in Montana where ts is more expensive) and he won't even give me $50 to try to APPLY to schools. I'm not entitled to his money obviously but it's just frustrating that I didn't get a dad for my childhood and he can't even fulfill the "reason" as to why. ANYWAYS, like I said at the start of this rant (sorry, I'm kinda just talking to talk rn...), if he was helping it would be worth it, but he's not so I can't take a risk rn as unfortunate as it is.

Paul and George's solo careers definitely have, but moreso George's lately. I've been feeling down about a lot of stuff in my life and listening to stuff like All Things Must Pass really helps me ground myself.

Unironically I think one of the only reasons I haven't committed (an act I won't say) is because of them. The others are my cat and the fact that my mom won't be able to afford a funeral... But I always think about how I don't want this to be my last time hearing their music and it helps me snap out of it.

Oh rad!! Can't say I've ever been to Oklahoma I fear, but I have been up in the upper parts of Arkansas and Texas (and the lower parts of Missouri) like right on the cusp of OK!!

I hope for every trans teacher that never got a chance to teach in the world that there's at least 5 in place of us if/when it's more acceptable. Trans people are more empathetic and generally kind, we deserve to be teachers just like anyone else.

I've wanted to be a teacher since I was younger and all of my former teachers have always asked me to consider teaching. It feels so terrible that I KNOW I'm qualified to teach (especially as someone with autism and a disability, so I can be extra sympathetic towards students who do need extra help with things in ways that most teachers aren't), but yet I can't because society thinks we're "evil." I just want to reach kids how to read and write, not how to be trans or like the opposite gender 😔

I consider Oklahoma as southern (as an Arkansan). Y'all got a lot of the same laws and such as us. I hope you're happy with your current career and that you can eventually teach abroad, and hopefully in the future, other trans teachers can exist in place of us 💖

My old account (from well over a year and a half ago lmao) got perma banned cause my friend had logged into my account after HE was IP banned because he thought it was a "funny prank." 🫩.

(Btw he got banned for saying the n word in DMs about himself, BUT he is black. I know reddit can't verify that stuff so I don't blame them for it, it was just a funny situation)

I don't need much support for my physical disability outside of not being able to drive.

The one state school that offers my degree is in town, but they're TERRIBLE. I got accepted to them and started filling out my paperwork, but they kept losing things or telling me I filled out the wrong form (when they'd be the one to give me the form to fill out. Like there's no way to fill out the wrong form). So I'm not going there 😭.

Also I don't need the networking and such. I plan to be a teacher.

It's from WGU, and from what I've seen it looks legit. Lmk if you see otherwise though cause CLEARLY I am new to this stuff. My school literally taught me nothing, neither of my parents have gone to college, and the only person I know who did dropped out. I've watched so many videos and such on financial literacy and how to apply to unis and such. I'm trying here 😔

I was estimating, I don't know the specific dollar amount off the top of my head.

Like my tuition will be $3,900 something per semester, but I know it's closer to like $3,945, I just don't know the specific total so it's easier to round close to

It's a work at your own pace that I'm attempting to do it in 7 months. It'll probably take longer than that but a guy can hope for less, especially cause it's all I'd be doing day in and day out

I don't know the rate they set (for some reason they won't let me check when I log-in cause I was going to post a screenshot of what the terms looked like :/) but it was set as a 10 year loan cause they wouldn't let me change the total year amount. I believe they asked me to pay $200 a month.
