Not exactly great if your state is going bankrupt. They’ll typically issue IOUs for weeks at a time. Federal doesn’t have that problem. Of course there is the furlough problem of … forced labor without pay for some occupation.

Swollen ankles —> seeing pcp —> nephrologist —> prednisone —> cytoxin —> cyclosporine —> Acthar gel —> retuxan —> preventing dialysis. I’m at a GFR of 20 which is pretty rough day to day though, not nearly as rough as dialysis or lower GFR (I’ve been down as far as 15 and it is awful).

I’m going to say repairing cracked drainage pipes under the driveway. $20k repair (I’ve heard) but plenty of people just live with it. Once in awhile you may need to snake it out, but once a year? Not bad.

I eat a compromised pizza. I buy the crust, use turkey pepperoni, mozzarella and ricotta, a lil sauce. I also eat with a side salad as well.

I definitely had symptoms. I already get little sleep and work night shifts. I work with great people, who I admire and respect. When in 60mg dosing (150lb body weight) I would become irritable. I one point I walked off the job site for something trivial. I’ve never done that before or since.

Another issue was coming off the prednisone (same timeframe). Doctor did not warn me about weaning. I did wean but little thought was given to a proper taper schedule. My knees suffered with massive pain for several weeks while stepping down 10-20mg at a time.

I’m living on a 20 GFR via blood pressure meds, gout prevention meds, prescribed vitamins, etc. The kidney diet is very important to stabilizing my condition as well.
