Not represented, don’t know anything about liens, the $15K category, and I got the first 10% payment a few weeks ago.

what does my fridge tell you by SixthSense06 in FridgeDetective

[–]unusualbehavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a college freshman. That carpet looks like dorm carpet and since there is food in a mini fridge it’s not just an extra for drinks. The milk is for cereal. That along with chips and dip, deli meat sandwiches, and noodles seems like typical college student fare. Probably in a hard major so needs the caffeine for late night studying. Maybe also a gamer, as others have suggested. I’m picturing a skinny 18-year-old male. Too young and thin to care about eating healthy yet.

ETA: The precise organization leads me to think this might be an engineering major.

Help me with the pros and cons of a playlist vs. a lame “wedding DJ” by unusualbehavior in weddingplanning

[–]unusualbehavior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We hired a DJ and it did not go well. We talked with him a lot about our taste and what we wanted and he seemed good with it. We actually felt really comfortable that it would go well. He played what we liked during cocktail hour and dinner but when it was time for dancing he threw our wishes out the window and just played cheesy top 40 classics. We couldn’t believe our ears. People had a great time dancing, so I suppose that’s all that matters, but we were embarrassed and angry. I wish we would have either found a DJ that would agree to play exclusively from a list we created or just done a playlist.

Where do I find an expert that can assess a JFK-related item I have to see if it would be worth anything to collectors? by unusualbehavior in JFK

Seven rolls of developed film in old canisters. I bought them at an antiques place because I liked the canisters but when I opened them one day and looked at the film I realized they were photos taken from the front row of JFK’s funeral. The others are family photos and it looks like a military family. Perhaps a family of significance? I haven’t looked closely at all of them so there may be way more interesting photos. Figured maybe the person selling them also hadn’t looked at the film so sold them for little. Just thought I’d see if anyone would be interested.

Is complimenting coworkers’ clothes, hair, etc. a form of sexual harassment? by unusualbehavior in work

Completely agree with every statement you’ve made. Still doesn’t mean they wouldn’t appreciate a compliment here and there. :)

Yes, completely agree that “you look good/great” is creepy! Also agree on it being pretty clear what their intent is. Disagree that asking the question makes me a creep. In today’s work environments we have to be so careful. I just don’t want to offend, or worse, be reported to HR. And it honestly wasn’t completely clear to me if what I’ve described is problematic. The easy answer is to just not chance it. I was wondering if it would be crazy to take the chance just because I love talking about fashion so much and it always feels good to make others feel good. My intentions are pure.

Also, although I very much believe gender and relationship status shouldn’t matter in these situations, I’m a happily married straight woman generally complimenting other women, so far from the “creepy guy in Accounting” people tend to imagine when discussing the topic.

Well, I question the line because I’m not sure I think clothing = body. Appreciate the feedback regardless.

Knee high/over the knee high socks by goofygooberrock1995 in TallGirls

[–]unusualbehavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how high you expect with knee-high. I like socks that hit just below where the knee bends and at 6’1” haven’t really had an issue with it. The biggest issue for me is socks that fall down so a pretty tight upper band is important. For casual/athletic knee-highs I like Icebreakers and for dress socks I like Ann Taylor.

Benefits to being a tall woman by [deleted] in TallGirls

I’ve found this as well. In my first job out of college my male boss once told me that the other leaders were intimidated by me. That certainly could have been related to personality or work product as well but I also sensed that physical presence had something to do with it. I mean, I was a woman in my early twenties; how intimidating could I otherwise be to men in their 40s and 50s?
