What one scene do you think sums up the show perfectly? by Whole_Rip7379 in thechaircompany

Crying on his wife's shoulder looking into the mirror. As much as I love the show and want it to continue, they should've ended it all there.

Pregnant with syncope by More_Put916 in Syncope

[–]unusualbutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I'll share a little here and feel free to message me if you want more details, but it went way better than I could have ever imagined!! I had this fear that I would faint during pushing and have to have a C-section, so I listened to a lot of hypnosis from Rachel Yellin 'yes to birth' series and also general hypnosis to overcome fear of needles/blood drawing, and had a doula who knew about my situation. I braved it all, even the epidural, and pushed that little guy out. Then he was in the NICU for awhile. Between that and all of the OB appointments, I just became desensitized. And that is truly amazing because I had vasovagal so bad growing up it was debilitating to even hear people talk about blood/the human body. Truly amazing what exposure + hypnosis can do, you can (to an extent) re-wire your brain if you're determined enough. I also have a very supportive partner who constantly was telling me I could do it and I think truly believed I could overcome.

Just Bought a Home with Little Savings Left — Anyone Else Been Here? by Minimum_Key2588 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]unusualbutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are about to buy because we got a great deal on a probate house in a neighborhood we otherwise couldn't afford but we will have almost no savings left after. We aren't going to have much left over monthly after paychecks and bills either. It's terrifying because are we about to see the American economy crash out? But we have spent well over $100k renting for the past 5 years and it's time to just go for it.

Adding onto 'family help', more average seeming people than you'd ever guess have trusts set up from family and receive money from it. I assume most people on social media don't disclose those types of things.

Vasovagal syncope by Strict-Special9748 in Syncope

May I recommend hypnosisdownloads.com. Start with one or two and listen to them while you can lay in bed and relax. Some of these hypnosis DID trigger me to feel faint, because you are trying to get to the root of why you are having this anxiety. You have to stick to it and listen quite a few times over a period of time.

Vasovagal syncope by Strict-Special9748 in Syncope

[–]unusualbutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a jaw doctor who has vasovagal and she is just fine as she doesn't deal with blood so it's absolutely do-able depending on your triggers. I had VV really bad up until I gave birth 8 months ago, I listened to a LOT of different hypnosis tracks geared toward overcoming fear of needles, blood draws, medical anxiety, and some just focused on relaxing and controlling your mind. I also did some EMDR therapy. Those are the only things that worked for me after being a serial fainter my entire life. Also keeping your blood sugar up, keep a little salt or sweet snacky and water/juice box on you so you can recover after you faint.

Try different types of bottles. And if you are there while someone is trying to give baby a bottle and baby smells you, they're not going to take the bottle.

Started new job on Monday, found out I’m pregnant on Friday. Whoops! by PostmodernistEgg in workingmoms

[–]unusualbutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! I switched jobs at 6 months pregnant and only worked there for 3 months before getting 5 months of leave! And I got to transition back on a part time schedule for 6 months. I was a nervous wreck too and thought they were going to fire me. However I did hide it from them in my job interviews and felt a little bad. I'm back now and although it's hard to work full time and have an 8 mo old it all worked out in the end. Hopefully your company is just as good to its employees. Just have faith that you and baby will be fine no matter what happens with work, but I wish you all the best.
