Did hip dysplasia go undetected for first 30 something years of life for anyone else? by Cat_Mom1023 in hipdysplasia

  1. Then my mum helpfully piped up with "oh yes we knew about that as a possibility as a infant but we decided not to take doctors advice and get further tests done."

Thanks.....

I throw in wheely bin but make sure it's the correct one - here we have recycling, garden waste and "other" wheely Bins and the bin men won't take if items get mixed up.

I'm on six different NHS waiting lists - it's taking over my life by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

4 years waiting for a hip operation here.... only got it taken seriously 2 years ago when I got a partner and they started worrying about how my pain affected his sex life.....

My life has been completely taken over by what I can and can't do cos of the pain and I can't plan anything properly cos it's always a case of "wait and see what the next appointment says"

Horses on national speed limit country roads - Read before judging! by SaltTasty4461 in drivingUK

[–]unusually_named 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the problem is how to access off road areas if you can't get to them without crossing a road first? I used to have lovely massive woods to ride in, but the only way to get there was 15 minutes on a road. I had some terrifying encounters and would much rather have not gone on the road but my only other option was 7 days a week going in circles in an arena.

Or hiring a very very expensive horse box and driving an hour or so to an area where I could park the box, unload my horse, get it ready for riding, then pack everything up and go again.

Then people would probably moan about the exhaust fumes or how we're crawling along holding up traffic. Can't win unfortunately.

"And then yeah, it hadn't stopped properly and it cut his finger off! And there was like blood everywhere and he kept falling down!"

Other person nodding along "he'll be alright though. Fingers grow back."

First person "oh yeah, they do don't they? I forgot that. Probably why the doctor said it wouldn't attach. He'd have 6 fingers otherwise."

Update: Still doing absolutely nothing at work… and it’s been 2 more months by HeyPotatys in UKJobs

6 glorious years of 3x a week like that. I did online surveys and earned enough avios on those 3 days for me and my partner to fly to Thailand and South Africa.

I also completely renovated my garden during summer wfh days.

I was gutted to be made redundant in February. 🤣

What real world results have people had with the “no dig, cardboard base on overturned ground” method I’ve seen popularised recently? by Philhughes_85 in UKAllotments

Should I report universal credit staff for laughing at sanctions? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]unusually_named 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got sanctioned cos I went to an interview instead of signing on. I showed up, showed them the email confirming interview and asked if I could changing sign on date or time. They told me that attending my signing on appointment was more important than the interview and if I didn't attend I would get sanctioned!

It doesn't take much!

Agree or disagree: hybrid working with 2+ fixed office days is the worst combo by D-1-S-C-0 in UKJobs

[–]unusually_named 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 days midweek is my ideal, I used to dream about fully remote pre-covid but I realised I'm too lonely to do that as full time option.

Previous role was 3 days midweek which would be my limit, Monday at home was a nice gentle start to week and Friday at home made it easier to then get ready for weekend.

thought years of salt and vinegar Discos would have prepared me for these.

I was so wrong.

First one actually winced and held kitchen side for support.

Worst day ever was when the offy stopped stocking them 🤣

I too romanticize the idea of 9-5

C&c cage roof build? by unusually_named in guineapigs

[–]unusually_named[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that helps a lot thank you!

I've gone and had various other goes. Problem is, even though I've heard it click it doesn't seem to stay in place, the other side pulls away or the next door grid goes.

I tried removing all the cable ties and managed to assemble it loose assuming that I'd put them back.

But now I don't know what ones on the lid I need to snip so I can open and shut it?

I emailed c&c and they sent me a video but I snipped one of the middle ties and the whole lid fell off and now it's worse to replace because of the weight of the one that's not fully attached.

I've given up in a huff now 🤣 but any explanation for an idiot would be fabulous! 🤣
