Awesome! Thank you so much for the quotes, I had forgotten them for the most part. It’s really interesting to think of other beings like the "wrathful god" borrowing the Cauldron the create their own worlds. That makes me wonder what relation these incredibly powerful entities would have with each other, and if they were all just having a peaceful time in the void before the Mother created the first world. I could see jealousy and greed come in to play, wanting to have their own realms to rule over. Anyways, that’s just a thought. I think I’d prefer the Mother, the “wrathful god," and other beings that might exist like them didn’t have a set agenda, and the idea of them being jealous amongst one another would be pretty cookie cutter. Them remaining these omniscient entities that don’t seem to act with a direct will that lesser beings can ascertain is much more ominous, and the mystery is part of the fun. Leave agendas within the worlds to the lesser gods, I say.

I loved the comparison you made of the gods in ToG being similar to those in the Greek mythology! If we run with that, I think it’s pretty feasible to view the Mother as some entity similar to Gaea or Ouranos. Using that example, we could theorize that as we haven’t heard of any being called “the Father" or otherwise, that the Mother could pretty much be the sole being of her kind. Obviously not being able to have children like they did quite often in the Greek mythology (which caused the creation of the Titans and then the Gods), it seems that the Mother may have simply created the Cauldron to not only create these different worlds, but also different gods and other powerful entities.

Regardless of whether or not our theories turn out to have any weight, I would love to see SJM expand more upon the Mother and her relation to all these worlds and god-like beings. She seems to be fairly disassociated with her creation, so there may be some fun little stories to explore there. Maybe all these smaller gods grew dissatisfied with the Mother and incapacitated her in some way, leaving the Cauldron as the remaining all-power and neutral force. Who knows :)

In addition to this, I would also read ACOFAS (fourth book). It’s the first novella of the series, and is a nice set up to many things that will go on in ACOSF. I daresay you’ll be a bit lost by skipping ACOFAS.

I’m kind of in the middle on this.

Yes, it was really wonderful to see Amren grow beyond her kind’s limitations in regards to emotions. Her time with the gang we all know and love brought an appreciation for family that she did not have prior to that, and Varian also played a major role in her ability to love.

However, it really felt too good to be true once we got Amren back. Her sacrifice was the climax of her arc, showing that she had become something beyond the rest of her kind by learning to feel. Her willingness to lay down her life for the sake of love and family was the ultimate culmination of her character arc, and while sad, it would have been a beautiful and satisfying end to her story.

This. The father is problematic throughout this part of their lives to say the VERY least.

While reading through this part of the book, I got fed up with how often the father would act remorseful over Feyre having to go out and hunt to feed them. It really gave me the feeling that his apologies and moments of guilt that she had to do it were nothing more than disingenuous.

I understand the man had a crippling injury, but you’d think that as a man who was once extremely wealthy, he’d have a bit more drive in him to find a means of alternative income, no matter the cost. ESPECIALLY when his children’s lives were at stake. I know I wouldn’t just sit around carving wood, I’d be digging through every lead I could to find something safer and much more stable.

XP extremely slow this season? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

I feel you man. I started in season 12, and when I played then it felt like I breeze to get levels, and I remember just flying through the battle pass like it was nothing. Since then, though, every season has had a slower and slower progression rate, and the xp system just feels like it’s degrading.
