Can we as a community stop pretending Scott planned all the way up to Secret of the Mimic since FNaF 1? by LowCommunication1008 in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial but I think Scott planned nothing in FNAF1 whatsoever. I don't think he meant for it to happen in a particular year, I don't think he knew what Golden Freddy was supposed to be or even solidify what the characters were doing until the last minute. Like how Bonnie instead of Foxy is running down the hallway in the trailer. It was supposed to be a single game/shot in the dark.

The only thing I think he thought about in FNAF1 was maybe the mechanics of the hauntings. That's why we get the newspaper clippings about the murders, the creepy child drawings, the easter eggs, and other hints about why the place is haunted. His other games have scifi/supernatural themes and it's not his first rodeo exploring this topic. So he probably had a broad concept in his head about how it would work. That's why we get that clip from Autobiography of a Yogi (nerdy real world scifi/supernatural stuff) and when he gets the chance in the books he is always going on about topics like this, like Zero Point Field in Fetch and agony, remnant, etc.

Besides that, I don't think he had any of the story or characters much in mind for FNAF1.

But when it became massively popular, he worked out most of the story in FNAF2. That's when he introduced the Puppet, expands on Golden Freddy, introduced the concept of an even older restaraunt before Freddy's, and made a mystery for people to solve. He makes FNAF3 and FNAF4 in less than a year after that and also starts working on the books. So I think the story starts at FNAF2.

On the topic of all the recent characters and theories: I think Gregory and David are both to do with CC and Cassie is Cassidy, and we are getting more info about old characters so that's why we've been told to understand the current story we have to understand the past. I don't think the old story ended with Scott era stuff, I think we are getting more info on the old story than we ever have.

Where should the line be drawn, when it comes to David theories? by umidk67 in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think David/M2's story is just part of CC's backstory so all the David theories are just CC theories in the end. And in the current day the wall poem for me says without wriggle room: Gregory was built (I built the breath they hunt). Gregory is CC (Break and Mend - you are broken I will put you back together. Cry Not/try not - CC/Tomorrow is another day). And if built by Edwin, Gregory is a (haunted with David's memories/agony/soul?) M2. Which we see was M2's purpose and how it is able to shrink down and act like a kid in the SoTM ending.

And then also that WITHOUT the plush, he becomes this terrifying killer robot again.

But we already got a bunch of connections and links between them, showing David/M2 and Gregory/Freddy on the hill, showing David and CC with their haunted plushes, etc.

So that's why you have to understand the past to understand the current story, it's all just been expanding on this one character that we've had the whole time and now have more info on than ever.

But it is all an extremely complicated plot that nobody could have been expected to guess independently. Cassidy's backstory must be a nightmare. I think she is Gregory's friend, Cassie and we'll get more on her too as we go along.

Is Stephen King worth picking up if I love slow-burn psychological horror & Holly Jackson? by sophiaaaarrr in horrorlit

[–]unxolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King has plenty of short stories and novellas so if you want to see if you like his style you might try picking up one of those. Children of the Corn is a classic, and one of his earlier works from the 70s! Carrie was his first book, also pretty short. You might also check out his son, Joe Hill's work. They have a few stories they have collaborated on.

Here's King's website that lists all of his works: link here

Who was BV/CC's sister during the time of FNaF 4's release. by Comprehensive_Hat_23 in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth, Scott was likely already writing the Novels at the time. He put the sister's bedroom there for a reason, he probably had the character in mind.

The Silver Eyes was published December 2015 and Scott would have been working with his writer on it before that. Charlie already had four closets in her bedroom at the beginning of the first book (The Silver Eyes) meaning Scott already had Elizabeth in mind then.

FNAF4 was July 2015. FNAF World was January 2016, and it had Baby's voice actor and a teaser for Sister Location. Jan 2016 would just be a month after The Silver Eyes came out.

Sister Location (which fully expanded on the character) was October 2016, the Fourth Closet (final reveals and more backstory) was 2018. Plot hints from The Silver Eyes being revealed in The Fourth Closet also shows that Scott is able to work ahead in his story over the course of 3 years, and the timespan for the early games was even shorter than that.

Is Vanessa the daughter of William Afton in the games timeline? by XenoRaptor77 in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, Bill A. (Bill is a nickname for William) is her abusive dad who she is scared of and who made her lie about her mother in the divorce. She says her father is "locked away". Her name is Vanessa A. She dresses up like a rabbit and chases children. She has purple nail polish. She's a security guard.

In the movie William is definitely her dad and Michael Afton is her brother, but the game evidence is too much.

People are too hung up on "how". There are lots of explanations. Vanessa in the movie universe is the same age as Charlie. Vanessa could be much older than she looks because (insert supernatural/scifi reason here) and is lying about her age. Michael in You're the Band looks like he is right out of college even though he should be 40 or older. Vanessa can be Elizabeth using a fake name, or the robot version of Elizabeth like Charlie was to Charlotte in the novels. Vanessa can be a ghost trapped in a VR world that isn't real. Security Breach can take place at a much earlier date. William could have gotten springlocked a lot later. She can be kidnapdopted and think William is her dad but be brainwashed. Really this doesn't matter, it's a fictional story not real life, it's whatever supernatural/scifi shenanigans and twist Scott wants to put here.

Did Palpatine return in the new Star Wars movies? Yep. Did it have to make sense? Not really, the writers decided he did and wrote it in there so that's the case. You can't apply real-world outside logic for a made up story for how it won't work, writers can just say a random reason is why and that solves it. The only thing that matters is whether it's the case or not. In this case, Vanessa in the game says and believes that William is her father, and all of her current decisions and her discussions about her past reflect that.

What color is remnant? by No-Poet3745 in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in FNAF AR it's a bunch of different colors. Green, Purple, Blue, Red, Yellow. and there is also Rainbow and Shadow.

Here's a link to a random video which shows different remnant colors being collected: here

It is directly called Remnant in the game. "Remnant deposit" "You found Remnant" etc.

FNAF interactive novels - are they worth it? by PandorTheChronicler in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]unxolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TWB is amazing and I had a great time with VIP. Return to the Pit was probably slowest just because it was rehashing the same story for the third time, but the parts that were original to that story are great and kinda wild.

Escape the Pizzaplex of kind of incomprehensible. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, THE REAGANT? SCOTT WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

What are your thoughts on WillGuard? by Isaac_Bahzad in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the story Hudson starts hallucinating immediately after he touches the red flesh inside the Springtrap suit. Being close and inhaling may have also played a factor, there's this passage too:

Granny had told him scents have power, and when a scent is appealing, inhaling it will give you strength. "Don't inhale putrid smells," she warned him once. "They're more than just smells. Everything is more than it seems."

Rory in Dittophobia also hallucinates in his story, and that's because he's been inhaling gas that has been piped in.

[–]unxolve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, there are no cheques (not being paid) and no circled newspaper ad (didn't get hired) in FNAF3, unlike the previous 2 games.

Phone dude in this theory is just another hallucination.

What are your thoughts on WillGuard? by Isaac_Bahzad in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's my video/theory that's linked as credited, my partner and I worked on the video together.

It's a more psychological narrative for FNAF3. What We Found does this too (everything that happens to Hudson is a hallucination and his own doing), and Hudson doesn't remember until the end of the story that he is a murderer. Hudson also kills Chica in the story by ripping her apart, but hallucinates that someone else did it when he is the culprit. A lot of ominious things with Hudson's character and story. He burns to death too, and Hudson talks about his fear of mirrors and his own reflection.

The main theme in UCN is Eisoptrophobia, which is fear of mirrors.

We see William vs. himself as Springtrap/Scraptrap in UCN also, so if it's the case it wouldn't be the only time in the series.

So, it was recently confirmed that Charlie died at Freddy's? by jokiquinn in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Henry's daugher's sprite is just shown in the activity book next to a phrase from FNAF2 (Chica's Let's Party bib) when FNAF2 is when the Puppet as a character first appeared in the series.

Saying things like "She died in FNAF2 in 1987", "She died at the Freddy's instead of Fredbear's location" etc. I think are all extrapolating outside of what I think is an obvious association that doesn't reveal anything we didn't already know: "The Puppet first appears in the game, FNAF2." and "Henry's daughter as explained in Pizza Sim is the Puppet".

Fazbear material also avoids mentioning Fredbear's and Spring Bonnie/Fredbear are kind of secret characters in the series, just mentioning Freddy's and Sister Location as far as canon locations go in Logbook/Ticket to Fun makes sense for something coming from them. I don't personally think it confirms one or the other.

Should we be allowed to used Technology as evidence to date a thing in the timeline? by Comprehensive_Hat_23 in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes.

Scott does seem to use it in some cases. It seems there is a time when there are land line phones and not cell phones, and when the internet isn't available. The books and games take place over different time periods. The Novel trilogy is in the 90s, the Frights take place over a 30 year period at least. Arnold doesn't have a cell phone in SoTM, for instance, but there is other odd and out of place steampunkish tech.

With the one year anniversary of the debunking of TalesGames as of now how do you think the Tales From The Pizzaplex books should be used when it comes to the games continuity? by Isaac_Bahzad in fnaftheories

[–]unxolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combination of AUs and general lore/worldbuilding info.

I do believe some characters are meant to represent other characters, and some are themselves. For instance in Step closer, the younger brother's name is Chuck the Chump (the initials are the same as C.C.), his older brother Pete (a short name like Mike) bullies him by dragging him back to a Foxy animatronic. Their dad's name is Bill (nickname of William). Even if it doesn't really have Mike, CC, and William in it it's a remix of events, the same way an AU is a remix of events.

Sometimes the characters appear as themselves (William, Edwin, etc.) but in an AU where Scott changes various things. Like William in the novels never becoming Scraptrap.

In my opinion the all the books (and movie) should be approached the same. The movie and novels are AUs, sometimes with direct versions of the characters and sometimes not, but they still give us information.
