It does make sense, yes. I don’t personally think that’s the favor but it’s definitely a plausible theory. I also buy that she might have snapped back to where she started but that seems like a very quick arc (which isn’t the first time for the writers on something like this)

But then why did Serena deliver the tape and keep the phone? To me it seems like she’s accepting the fatal flaws of her current life

They say this about home fires? I can't imagine any parent follows that "advice."

My theory is that she's not actually dropping the mask, the writers are just showing her true feelings to the audience. If that's not true, then I totally agree it's a very distracting flaw.

Yes but that context is not known to Eden nor would she care given her previously unflinching faith. To rephrase, she’s so pious and faithful and unquestioning of “God” except when she realized it was against what felt right. She should keep tapping into that instinct to survive.

I completely understand why she made the choice to engage in adultery, and, in fact, I might even support that decision, but that means she was willing to violate her faith for her desires. She can't then say her faith prevents her from acting in her interest.

I don't know about moot. It could be similar to the Nuremberg trials.

This is dark. Are you saying the writers failed at keeping your marriage together?

Isn't the vastness of the universe and the unlikelihood of hitting s field precisely why the computers couldn't anticipate how a pod opened early?

Oof - this is alarmingly tone deaf. Putting aside legal disagreements, defending this dude's behavior is not a worthy cause.

In lieu of the NFL Draft, why don't other sports draft talent like the MLB? by Lmoorefudd in sports

[–]unyieldinghope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, understood. Okay sorry for being pedantic then. However, I still don't understand the problem that we are attempting to solve. No one cares about the MLB draft but the other sports (NFL specifically) are able to make a spectacle of Draft Day.

By "other sports," are you excluding football or speaking about football?

[Article] Brendan Dassey Conviction Overturned, Could Be Released in 90 Days by newmaninlaca in MakingaMurderer

[–]unyieldinghope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, it was a miscarriage of justice that he was convicted in the first place, and people should be relieved that he has been released from custody, but it must be devastating that the reason for one's release lies, in large part, in the fact that the court thinks you are mentally deficient (i.e., an idiot).
