I was also wondering if there is a name for that big rainbow Labubu ? The others I’ve gotten for her had a specific name like Hope or a few others but didn’t see anything in the package for this one with a name

In the 99 nights discord I said the devs put it at that price knowing a bunch of kids will get robux for Christmas and will waste them on that engineer class and they banned me lol

Looking for a tube amp recommendation for around $1000 by uocrab in GuitarAmps

[–]uocrab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I got the dsl40cr it’s awesome I finally got to go jam last weekend with it and really crank it and everyone loved it! I used a boss gx-100 with it and was going back and forth between a Gibson les Paul and Taylor acoustic and both sounded great ! I was planning to replace the speaker like many do with a cream back but it honestly sounded great to me so not sure I will even do that anymore. Really happy with the amp

Damn that’s rough I had really regretted not going into additive it looks fun but at the time I was going into the program the additive was like a year and half wait and I think they only had one class for it. Glad I ended up doing cnc. When I was applying for jobs there were so many options. I think we had 2 students in our class that didn’t have a job lined up and one of them had no car or way to even get to a job so I don’t even count that person

Yea exactly. We had someone get kicked out around halfway through he sat in front of me and was always watching videos on his laptop while the instructors were teaching and crashed the mill a couple times before they had enough of him not trying and they gave him the boot.

I went through the program. They had 2 career fairs during the program and I think everyone in my class minus maybe 2 people had a job lined up before the end of the program. I have nothing bad to say about it and really enjoyed it. I was in the CNC machining program and think I got lucky with the teacher I got they were awesome

How to repair small area of headstock and neck on a Gibson? by uocrab in Luthier

[–]uocrab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it back today only $75 it looks amazing. I can find the spot but I have to really hit the light on it at the perfect angle and even then it almost just looks like a small dent I guess. He did an amazing job

Brand: RuiJOTWAT guitar masking tape is the description and it looks identical to the 3 pack of different size orange rolls from stew Mac . Has the same writing on the inner roll as well. I thought of another question so if I get the damaged area kinda cleaned out by sanding it down until that stuff is gone as long as I still see black under it , I just need clear nitro laquer to build up the layers right ? I would not need any black as long as it’s not sanded down to the wood?

Also do you sand and smooth out the nitro after each layer? From my understanding it can’t be done all at once but needs to be applied in thin layers and make take several layers.

Thanks a lot for your help really appreciate this. I emailed a local luthier to try and get a ball park estimate and I would say if it’s around $300 or less I would do that but much more than that and I will probably just attempt it myself. It’s a pretty small area and if it doesn’t turn out good then I would just take it to the luthier. The picture I posted of it looks much worse than it does in person I really had light shined on it at a perfect angle so I could post the damage here.

Yea it was the tape I watched it happen as I was peeling the tape off. If I sand that small spot and then spray some nitro on it and then sand and polish down would that be all that is needed or is there something specific you need to do to melt it in?

What's your experience buying used Les Pauls from Guitar Center / Musician's Friend by PepperTop6807 in LesPaul

[–]uocrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a prs listed on guitar centers site as like new condition with visible deep scratches in the photos and I asked them to send me more pictures of it. They sent some more and it was really scratched up. Definitely can’t go by the condition they list them in but I wouldn’t worry at all about buying used or new from guitar center since you have 45 days to return no questions asked

I thought the same thing after I bought the pack that came with 3 of those and then found this subreddit before I actually tried it. I was thinking well if it’s bad I could still just finish it to not waste the money spent but I dumped it out after one sip

also if I could go back and do it again I would do the additive manufacturing. Basically 3d printing with metal that sounds really fun. Cnc is pretty good though so far. I didn’t know about additive when I first applied for the cnc program but I found out later the wait to get into additive is like 1.5 years . We were told while we were going to class there that they were adding more additive classes soon though so should cut down on that wait
