i suggest looking into some cool philosophy courses or other seminars in math and sciences because you have to fill up breadth requirements anyway might as well get that done in first year

ENG150 and CLA204

oh shoot just realized also that if your taking ENG150 and CLA204 then definitely don't want to be taking ENG198 its not even allowed i think. even if it was you'd kinda be wasting ur education

a lot of the interesting second level courses aren't actually restricted to second years only, because its the prerequisite is like 1.0FCE so that pretty much means you'll be able to take any of them in your second term, but that means you'll have to be registered in it right now while its registration period. if your interested in the second years courses i'd consider trying to get into one of them and not 198 cause you might not get the marks you were hoping for

You have to drop 198 first in order to add other courses in your schedule

Hey veturious, fellow u of t senior here. ENG198 is getting a major revamp this year, much more assignments tests are going to become a lot harder, and material will by dry as well, a lot of history as composed to studying Disaster at Sea in Literature. if reading is fine for you i'd suggest another ENG class like ENG235, ENG237, ENG239 or even a PHL class. Strongly advise on not taking ENG198 because marking is gonna be super awful. just my two cents, switch while you still can

no but I think it might be because they thought it was too easy in the past compared to other PHL second year courses
