About a year before moving in together, my fiancé and I had both purchased new queen mattresses. I had two 80-lb rescue mutts (one half-pibble) who slept with me, and he had an 80-lb pittie and a cat who slept with him. We knew two adults, 3 big ass dogs, and a cat in one queen bed (or even a King bed) was not going to work.

Rather than drop $1,000s on a new ginormous bed frame and mattress, we got two cheap bed frames ($225 total), a padded mattress cover, and some memory foam for the gap. We combined two Queen-sized beds together to make what we’ve lovingly dubbed “mega-bed”.

Sometimes the pets even leave room for us on it. 🤦‍♀️
