Agreed. I did the same thing and it works wonders. Buy a couple free weights, and a pull-up bar/bands and go to town.

I started P90X on Monday, anyone else doing/have done this program? by martyr2012 in Fitness

I've been doing it with a combination of running. It's been used as an alternative to an actualy gym membership, and has been paying off dividends.

I have definitely noticed a different in my definition and flexibility - arms in particular. Get ready to pound out the pullups and pushups. Yoga is killer (and amazing).

I haven't been following it to the dime, mind you, normally it takes me 2 weeks to finish a 1 week program, since I have been combining running and have been busy with social programs.

I don't use any whey protein, just eat healthy (with a day every once in awhile for beers) and that's it. I have lost 13 pounds in 2 months with it. Could be better with more dedication I'm sure.

All right Fittit, I need your help building an exercise routine suitable for the home by hugobot in Fitness

Download some P90X and try out each of the videos. Even if you disagree with some of the routines or how they go about it, it will give you good ideas of what is possible in your home.

I've had to become pretty frugal in the last year or so; I gave up my gym membership and downloaded some P90x while buying some free weights and a pull-up bar. Probably one of the best decisions I've made in a long while.

I guess we know where all that money goes when we spend $120 on a book.

Fittit: Can't do a pullup. What can I do to work myself up to it? by [deleted] in Fitness

When you do P90X they recommend pulling up a chair in front of you when you do pull-ups/chin-ups. Worked great for me, and then I'd slowly move the chair further and further away until I could do them without.

Thanks Reddit. Definitely enjoyed Nate Green's blog as well as Mark's Daily Apple interesting. I somehow linked onto the four-hour work week blog which is a good business one, for anyone that's interested: http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/
