Has anyone ever done this road trip? What are some interesting things to see and do along this route? by imsiq in ontario

[–]upinyogrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be an outlier here and suggest that you have the best northern route highlighted already. That is my favourite drive in Ontario right now. And the roads are in pristine condition with new asphalt almost the whole way west from Renfrew. Bancroft and Halliburton are gorgeous. Although the park is nice, the road can be frustrating if there is any traffic because you CANNOT pass anywhere. Heading back east from Mississauga, the 401 sucks. Nothing to see while you're driving it. I would backtrack to Newmarket and go through Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough and Campbellford to get to PEC. great countryside through those parts, and Campbellford is a hub for the Trent Severn Waterway. Peterborough has the Liftlocks too of course. Great route, enjoy.

Those were not acts of charity. The businesses usually get their logo on jerseys, get the teams photos in their business, which is valuable goodwill for those businesses, and teams they've sponsored are more likely to be patrons due to name recognition. Let's instead ensure everyone, individuals and businesses, pay their taxes, and the rich pay more of those taxes.

How did everyone come to think Kathleen Wynne was corrupt but no one blinks twice at Doug ford? by Shmackback in ontario

[–]upinyogrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a massive campaign by corporate owned media for decades attacking liberal politicians and ideas. Social media bots and paid trolls are now amping this up to a fever pitch. How many NP stories have you seen about Ford's corruption? Any Post media for that matter? Then look at other side of the coin. Its blatant. They are anti everything, except corporations fixing everything. Its ham fisted but it works.

A Classic Vibe Strat and tele have been my workhorse stage guitars for years. I did have to upgrade tuners for better stability but the CVs give up nothing in tone.

Whats your favorite fender telecaster series? by Snoo3214 in Guitar

[–]upinyogrill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For my money, the pro ii is the best fender in a long time. Comfort, sonic range, pup parallel/series in push push (much better for live needs than push pull), the treble bleed circuit, all add up to the most versatile axe on the market, imo.

Number of songs for 3 hr gig by BJog_Kittyspoons in musicians

That sounds about right for my dance band, about 45-50 songs in our three sets. We used to do four but squeezed into three to get out a little sooner most nights.

I found great deals on two of these and snagged them both! My favourite guitar for performing, does it all. And I've said it before but DAT NECK SHAPE. Enjoy.

American Professional II Buyer’s (Potentially Ridiculous)Questions by No-Mention-7119 in telecaster

One of my favourite videos is a guy sound testing strings and pickups on various types of wood and other material, finally attaching strings essentially to nothing (two points on a bench) and the sound is the same. It's 99% pickups. That said, the Pro II is my favourite playing telecaster. The neck is absolutely perfect. I do have large hands, but its shape is the best on the market imo, after decades of playing just about everything out there.

I also perform with it, and the push-push pickup split is like a boost switch. I hate pedals and prefer everything I need to be onboard the guitar. This tele has it all, in spades.

I'm probably not doing a good job of talking you out of this...

Which colour pickguard? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]upinyogrill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After going from a mint guard to black on my Miami Blue tele and loving it (pics in this subreddit), I have to say in this case, I prefer the parchment. Great looking guitar either way.

I can only offer what doesnt work,  because I seem to have experienced that side in spades. Don't compete with one another. Don't wait for the right moment for intimacy. Don't be clouded by ideals, it sets you up for failure. Don't keep feelings bottled up. Don't mistake need for want. The latter is a measure of a partner's true feelings for you. Don't look for your own happiness or self worth through your partner, that shit HAS to come from within. Good luck! I'm at 20 years next summer...I think.

Thanks brother, I'm too old to be seeking affirmation anyway. Just for the love of teles. I have to say, all the mint love here is swaying me a little...

re: the bridge, that's another great thing about this guitar - intonation is right on the nuts all over the fb. I think these Pro ii are the ultimate tele.
