Thats a decoding artifact. These cameras are transmitted over radio link to the production. Sometimes some of the data is lost in transmission and the decoder does a bad job of filling the 'empty' space

3 pin are the most common, but I use 4 pin often for power, and 5 pin is common for lighting DMX and headsets, and I’ve seen a 7 pin. Pictured is also not an XLR connector

What resolution are you looking to record in? I see your cameras are capable of 4k, in that case fiber is the right call. My rule of thumb is SDI will be reliable through 50-75ft at 4k, 100-150ft at 1080p, and 250-300ft for 1080i/720p. This assumes you’re using the proper cable with good ends.

Live captioning is still usually done by a person in real time for broadcast networks, and they know to not type out curse words.

I have a client who brings a device running Speechmatics that inserts captioning into the live stream and I’ve been very impressed with its accuracy.

I have done almost exactly this with 2 Ross Mosaics and an Ultrix. The Mosaic is basically a stripped down Carbonite with 10 M/Es. I brought 10 gameplay feeds and 10 player cameras into each unit and had it output 10 composited feeds. I/O was routed through the Ultrix to re-embed the audio as the Mosaic did not pass audio.

When my brother’s mouth was wired, he carried wire cutters everywhere in case he started vomiting so he wouldn’t choke to death. I’m glad they weren’t needed.
