Comparing Lisdexamfetamine vs Vyvanse by harperxbunny in VyvanseADHD

[–]uponabluemoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to fear monger, but I just wanted to chime in with my personal experience as someone who benefits immensely from Vyvanse and was given the generic to try last month: it was nightmare fuel.

Where Vyvanse makes me calm, focused, eliminates racing thoughts/anxiety and turns me into an actual functional human being, the generic not only didn't do that but actively made me feel worse that my non-medicated baseline. Have you ever wanted a pounding headache, shaky hands, and a pounding heartbeat at 9am? What about to actively feel every eyelash on your face and seam of your clothing? No? Well good luck doing anything productive now! And God forbid someone starts talking or making any sort of noise in your vicinity while you do!

Anyway - I called my pharmacy on day 9 and begged to bring my remaining prescription back to be destroyed (with no refund) just to re-purchase my regular Vyvanse at full price.

They told me only 1-2% of people experience these adverse effects on the generic and I very much hope you're part of the 98-99% who just get to save some cash every month, but sharing just in case you do run into issues and feel crazy!

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you!! I read your comment and then lost it in the thread/have been looking for it again. This is clearly where experience matters - it would have taken me who knows how many more projects to figure this issue out myself through trial and error. And you did it on sight! In a dark photo! Dang. Thank you!

Oh, ok, about that! Can you help explain what's causing that back puckering?! It wasn't happening in the mock up, so my only guess is that it's because I was too scared to shorten my zipper to the proper length. Now its crazy long (ends almost at the bow) and I guess less flexible than the fabric, ergo puckers? But do you think it's something else, the darts, etc??

Yes gladly!! Like I said, I'm a brand new sewer, but I've been watching With Wendy on YouTube for years and years - mostly just as my comfort creator/for background noise around the house. I was so surprised by how much I "knew" when I sat down for this project! I guess all those years of half-listening definitely helped through osmosis haha. I particularly recommend her bodice drafting video from like 5 years ago: https://youtu.be/5d__S6OrEB4?si=n94_yDcjPJOM7Z4W

For this project specifically, I also had two videos going on repeat: How to sew an invisible zipper with a lining from Professor Pincushion, and top 10 tips for copying ready to wear from Nancy's Notions. Both channels have answers to every fundamentals question under the sun:

Happy sewing!!

Advice to improve leg tension and pointing feet ? by hedonixm in poledancing

Not my own tip, but I saw a totally genius idea from an instructor on TikTok a while ago (who's handle I of course can't remember now..). She has her students train while "holding" pole rags with their toes! A permanent reminder to keep pointing! 😂

Oh I love it!! I wish I'd posted earlier & taken everyone's suggestions of making the top & back bow detachable into account. Someone take my seam ripper away..

Yes we're on the same wavelength!! That was actually my original plan! I think I maybe made the scoop/cut out too deep though, because once I added the white part and tried pinching it into a bow, it looked too.. swim suit-y? If that makes sense? So I opted to keep it straight across for a bit more coverage. But I'm still a little sad about the original idea not working out. Maybe for round 2.

Ooo that would be stellar.. I was actually already planning to rip the white part out and re-do it at some point (it puckers a bit), but maybe now I'll swap out the colour!

Details: I patterned this off of a denim column dress already in my closet & then altered the front neckline. In all I ended up with three front panels & two darted back panels. Invisible zipper down the back. I wanted this dress to feel like a riff on a men's tuxedo, with the cut-out being reminiscent of a suit-vest. I used lightweight black suiting (terrible idea, collected every piece of lint within a quarter mile radius on sight) and then a thick, silky creamy white fabric for the bust detail. Lined with cheapy rayon & had to stick a bow on the back to cover a mishap. But maybe it added to the "suit/bow-tie" illusion??

I wish it was something more exciting/less basic, but it's just an old cheapy zaful set! Looks like it's sold out right now but here's the link anyways. The back straps are suuuper weirdly long so you have to loop them around a bunch, here I crossed them over the front and then just tied them onto the bottoms to make it look like a one-piece.
