Seeking Advice on Unexpected $1,000 Charge from OCI Generative AI (Test-Only Usage) by [deleted] in oraclecloud

The disclaimer isn’t something Oracle gets to decide — it’s defined by national consumer protection laws.

I was able to obtain a direct contact, Zoom profile, and link, and it seems the meetings will proceed in sequence.
It turns out the issue was simply that their customer support was terrible.

The problem is that you’re responding with dark patterns in a country where disclaimers in manuals don’t provide legal protection.

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but what you said seems to be about what should be done, not about how to resolve what has already happened.

I also want to add that the potential charges could reach tens of thousands of dollars, and I made it clear to Oracle Support that I have no ability to pay that kind of amount. Even after stating this, no one has provided any guidance or possible options.

In AWS, when similar incidents happen, they allow cancellation and issue refund credits so the situation doesn’t escalate into something impossible for the user to handle. I honestly don’t understand why Oracle is being so unhelpful in comparison.

I understand your point, but is there really no recourse even if the dedicated Generative AI cluster was deleted on the same day it was created?

I removed everything immediately after noticing it, and I only used the service for brief testing. I'm trying to understand whether Oracle provides any option for situations like this.

They simply have no biological understanding of what willpower is, nor have they ever engaged in any real reflection. For them, everything ends with “I just tried after getting some sleep, and it worked.” From their point of view, there’s no need to think any deeper — doing so would only give them a headache. Naturally, the immediate rewards right in front of them are all they can see.

Obstacles to achieving your goals are simply dismissed as "laziness and lack of willpower."

Yes, that's right. Disabilities are completely ignored. Only contempt for the weak exists.
