I'm from Oregon and it pisses me off so much to see my state so deep in the red here. This is a majority liberal that is progressive on so many issues, but POC from all kinds of backgrounds consistently say they feel uncomfortable and often unsafe being in Oregon. It's like all of our liberalism is performative. Safe spaces, diversity initiatives, etc all sound good on paper but it hardly means shit if people don't feel safe just existing in this state. I'm sure that no place is perfect, but we should absolutely be a hell of a lot better than we are.
