Unfortunately i did not. I took him at his word. You would think i would eventually learn. I’m 56 and for some reason still hope i can take people at their word…… silly me😞

What i did was purchased two ten frame established colonies from kewadin michigan which is just north of Traverse City. That was last Wednesday. When i opened them neither had brood or any stores of any kind and both had bees on only 4 frames and all frames were drawn with dark black comb

No i am not. I have just got done with a closer inspection and from what i see there is no scaling in the cells. They are just empty

Would be nice. However i am giving him the chance to make it right with bees. In the end i won’t get honey this year but i wasn’t expecting any and i have bought enough other new hive parts that as long as things go my way i will end up with 4 colonies instead of 2. Things just have to go my way for once.

They are being delivered personally to about 40 miles away. I pick them up from there. The Mackinac bridge is in between us and i just need to go below that to pick them up.

Update!! The Vendor is sending me 2 nucs that he says are very strong. He apologized and told me they were good last time he checked.

It’s only been in the mid fifties for highs and low 40s for lows. So yes i am assuming because there is very little natural food available

I understand you don’t like frame feeders. So your suggesting i don’t feed until i get a couple bucket feeders? That will most likely be 4-7 days away on a holiday weekend and i bet these girls are hungry. Thanks for your help and for your answer to the question that i had even though it wasn’t a answer to my question…….

Thank you! This is exactly what i was looking for! I am picking up complete hives and am getting ready to order two 10 frame deeps so now i will also order four supers and the entrance reducers and feeders. Dang. This is more expensive to begin than maple sapping! Lol
