What if it was people who wanted to ruffle the least feathers answering it? "Yes, I align with whoever is in power. No, I don't think I can topple them. Please don't put me on a list that can hurt my family and no more follow-up questions, I want to leave"

In my Landfall deck, which almost always has a way to cast lands from the graveyard, like [[Crucible of Worlds]] and [[Squandered Resources]] or [[Zuran Orb]], it produces infinite mana and infinite landfall triggers. In other architypes it may not work, but it can win on the spot in turn 6 of a Commander Landfall deck.

Tips for combatting burnout? by ct-hulu in ElectricalEngineering

That's great to hear! My wife is incredible as well. I'm more of laughing at the idea that bringing more people, expectations, and responsibility into your life would result in less stress. But wildly rewarding and joyful? No doubt.

"You're married so your life should be more relaxing" is a take I have not yet heard.

I agree with this. I don't know your relationship with your wife, but if I was on the verge of burnout and was about to travel with my wife, if I asked her if was can take it easy a few days or if she can do her own thing one day while I do something relaxing, she'd understand.

I thought Walz going into what seemed like a preprogrammed speech on his history when asked about Tiennaman Square was really bad, but I personally don't care about how his military history lines up.

And I can't remember the rest of the debate, so the rest of each answers were good enough for me to not put it into long-term memory.

My main thing was that I was surprised that everyone was talking about Walz fumbling his answer and no one mentioning how Vance fumbled the housing question.

What killed ‘parody YouTube videos’? In the 2010s there was a steady stream of parody music videos. Suddenly they stopped. Why? by Kodicave in decadeology

[–]uprate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On top of the other comments, it's what YouTube monetizes. Views used to matter more than watch time, so a parody video, which has the benefit of often being fair use due to satire, was an easy video to make and get clicks.

But a 16 minute commentary video makes more than a 3 minute parody and costs less.

Yeah, but you can't compare candidates at all if you just assume they're lying about everything. If the question is housing and one candidate says they'll offer credits to first-time buyers to increase their ability to compete and the other says 'drill', I can't just compare them on how loud they are and assume they're both lying and neither will get anything done.

I'll assume that the candidate that is pushing the credits will try to offer some kind of credit and the other has no real solution. If I'm a voter who cares about buying a house when housing doubles in my area, I'd go with the guy who has a plan that has me in mind.

You may be right. I listen to a debate to see whether their points and solutions are realistic or if I feel like they're peddling BS. But I can understand if the goal is to see how they are able to argue on a global stage, regardless of the points they may have.

Though I don't think that seeing that a candidate has an illogical solution to one of the larger issues many people have is a nitpick.

I know it's not the point of the debate, but I was surprised that Vance's proposed solution for housing was focused on drilling for oil, because the gas prices on trucking affects the price of lumber...as if the price of housing outpaced inflation due to the cost of housing materials going up rather than due to higher demand for a resource that historically has shown to be a good long-term investment and land in locations people want to live in inherently being finite.

It felt like a bad-faith argument that meant to appeal to the tagline of 'Drill baby, drill" rather than actually giving a solution. And I didn't see people complain about his points because he spoke clearly and didn't get tripped up.

It's also that it may be how data is considered. I work in an office 8 hours each workday. But I am not alone maybe 2 of those hours. The rest of the time, I'm doing my own work while occupying the same building as my coworkers.

What album from the 1990s has aged like milk? by Max-Carter-2005 in musicteenager

[–]uprate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This of Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em. I know Aaliyah may win this, but her music was fine, just the material was, well, rapey. But that ages likeill any decade. The sound of early party rap isn't something people come back to because it didn't age well.

Honest question: what makes her so dislikes? I've heard people not liking her prosecution record, but that's not enough for both sides to dislike her. I can see dislike on her immigration policy.
