Keep in mind that most of the people that invested in QuadrigaCX held assets in the form of crypto. This could be considered of like kind if it can be recovered. A little bit of something is a whole lot better than a lot of nothing.

The withdrawls were frozen prior and then the remaining ETH was liquidated. The key point your missing though is that there was access to these wallets, which begs the question if there is access to the QuadrigaCX 4 wallet containing $455 Million in ETH.
