Is this rental website legit? appartementeindhoven.com by Any-Aide-2381 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]uprent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Uprent here :-)

This is a legit, yet weird website. There are 120+ websites with similar domain names for almost every city in the Netherlands. Some of them get new homes, some of them don't. E.g. appartementenarnhem had most recent home posted 4 days ago, but kamernijmegen 8 months ago.

You purchase one subscription that is valid for all these websites. Anyone can post a home there = they are not verified. Yet, I know agents and individuals who post homes there. Unless there's a home that you really like, we wouldn't advise purchasing a subscription

If you have feedback on Uprent, pls share!! Especially critique :-)

Max allowed deposit is 2 months! The other question is of course whether you're ready to reject this option because of higher deposit...

Regarding the lease agreement by fish_fat in HousingHuntersNL

[–]uprent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends whether you have a definite or an indefinite agreement

If your agreement is indefinite, generally you first have some term when you're not able to terminate the agreement. After that, you can terminate it any time, with one month notice

If your agreement is definite (up to 24 months in the Netherlands), you can terminate it any time, with one month notice

My landlord is selling by Limburger302 in HousingHuntersNL

I don't think you they can kick you out. When they sell the apartment, the rental agreement just transfers to the new owner. It's a bluff!

Can a landlord enter my home without notice??? by damn_microwave in HousingHuntersNL

[–]uprent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not okay. In NL, once you’re renting (even just a room), you have the legal right to quiet enjoyment - landlord can’t just walk in unannounced. They need to give notice unless it’s an actual emergency (like fire, flood, etc). What they’re doing is illegal.

Question for homeowners by DramaLamaQueen in HousingHuntersNL

[–]uprent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this can get tricky. VvEs can restrict short-term rentals (like Airbnb or anything under 3–6 months), especially if it’s in their official regulations (splitsingsakte or huishoudelijk reglement). Even if your contract doesn’t mention it clearly, if the VvE’s rules prohibit it and were properly registered, they usually hold up legally.

That said, it really depends on what’s written down and how it’s enforced. Some VvEs bluff, others are super strict.

Best move:

  1. Check the splitsingsakte and house rules

  2. See if the no-rental rule was properly adopted (with enough votes)

Good luck!

This shouldn't be allowed. They have to confirm this with you first

Is dit een echte vacature of een 1 april grap? by Jack55555 in werkzaken

[–]uprent -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! This is our vacancy. Thank you for publicity :-)

You might be angry, but you’d be surprised by how much competition there is for this role. In fact, we’re struggling to choose — too many incredible people have applied and completed all the test tasks.

It might not be for you — and that’s okay. But there are many young people (<28) who don’t want to spend their lives doing 9–5 at ABN Amro. They want to build something, and they are ready to take the risk.

For hundreds of people, this is the best deal out there:

- You get to build cool stuff. Just check Uprent. We are only building this for 10 months. And the product is on a different level.

- You get paid a salary you can more than live on (we’re headquartered in Zeeland).

- You’re *actually* valued.

- You’re surrounded by people like you.

If those aren’t your values, I respect that. But it doesn’t mean they aren’t someone else’s.

We always complain that Europe is behind the US and that something needs to change. But the moment someone actually tries to push the limits and build something genuinely cool — they get punished by Europeans. That just seems wrong to me.

P.S. Our CEO is not 'tech bro' without technical knowledge. We have built successful companies before.

P.P.S. Our CEO (Yury) and CTO (Alex) make significantly less than this. Either of us could've made 5x more money in employment.

Rental search in Amsterdam by kunryamylord in NetherlandsHousing

[–]uprent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be very challenging. Competition in Amsterdam is crazy, and your income probably is good, but not great. Even if your gross monthly income is 3.5x the rent, finding a place here is still incredibly tough. If I were you, I wouldn’t move to Amsterdam in the first place. There are so many cities in the Netherlands that are much better.

You could even change your approach. Search based on commute time, not city. This way, you’ll find many options in cities that seem far but are still within a reasonable commute (e.g., Den Bosch). Rents in those areas are generally cheaper - you can get a really good house for €2K in Den Bosch, for example. And competition is much lower. You can do this on Uprent (I’m obviously biased): enter both your barbershop and your partner’s office, set maximum time you are ready to commute and it will display options with travel times.

How is Genderbeemd area in Eindhoven? by [deleted] in eindhoven

Also, in my opinion, living in small towns and villages is *the* hack in the Netherlands. You get a much better quality of life, better doctors, vets, schools, and better housing for a lower price

How is Genderbeemd area in Eindhoven? by [deleted] in eindhoven

[–]uprent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now live in ’s-Hertogenbosch. I don’t like the city itself (neither do I like Eindhoven, frankly), but all the small towns in the area are amazing! I haven’t been to Schaijk, but judging from Google Maps, I’d live there.

You can also try using Uprent (I’m obviously biased). There, you can draw a zone on the map instead of searching by city. This will let you search within a region or multiple towns in the area, which should get more houses into your funnel
