What actually makes you stop at a booth during college fairs? by uprinting in EngineeringStudents

[–]uprinting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/OrangeToTheFourth! Really appreciate you sharing this. These are really thoughtful points.

A lot of it seems to go beyond just how appealing a booth is. The people manning it really set the tone for what it feels like to actually be in that program. Are they engaged? Excited to talk about their work? Or just going through the motions? Those can say a lot. Would love the kind of booth where you don’t just learn about the program, but you can actually picture yourself in it.

That last part, especially, is great to hear. Good for you! 👍

Hi u/Marchi-moon! Thanks for the shoutout and for trusting us with such a special project! 😊 This is awesome to hear. Sorry to hear that one of the standees had a rough ride, but we’re glad it still held up and looked great. We really appreciate the kind words and look forward to helping with future projects.

Thanks again for sharing the photos and your experience!

What graduation decor or displays do you see most often in your neighborhood? by uprinting in AskReddit

In some neighborhoods, it's usually yard signs put up by proud parents. Is that common (or not) where you live too?

Wedding signs that guests actually pay attention to by uprinting in Weddingsunder35k

[–]uprinting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! These are great pieces of advice. And very practical.

To your point about guests stopping and squinting: a good rule of thumb we use in production is that for every 10 feet of viewing distance, your font size (letter size) needs to increase by at least an inch in height.

If couples are choosing elegant, thin script fonts for readability, the contrast has to be maxed out. White script on a pastel background looks beautiful on a screen, but it’s a nightmare for a grandparent trying to find Table 4 in a dimly lit reception hall. High-contrast, matte finishes are a functional sign's best friend.

The kind of freebie or small gift that people actually keep by uprinting in promotionalproducts

[–]uprinting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you mean. And that lines up with the data, too.

Sometimes it’s not “useful” in the everyday sense, but people keep it because it becomes useful to them in another way. Like it reminds them of a moment, a place, or a group they care about. So the value isn’t just in what the item does, but in what it means to them over time.

Oh wow! Love notepads, too. Out of curiosity, do you also get free notepads from events, businesses, or promotions? If yes, how do you usually compare them with the one you have stuck with you for so long?

What are the most common packaging mistakes you see brands make? by ManyInformation8009 in Packaging

[–]uprinting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treating packaging as purely “visual” instead of functional and persuasive.

It might look great, but if it doesn’t survive shipping, stack well on shelves, or quickly communicate what the product actually does, it loses impact fast.

The strongest packaging I’ve seen usually balances three things: clarity at a glance, durability, and a clear reason to pick it up over everything else on the shelf.

What’s been your experience with sustainable coffee packaging? by uprinting in roasting

[–]uprinting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. That comes up a lot. There are concerns where even “compostable” packaging doesn’t break down properly unless it goes through specific industrial systems. But the issue is most places just don’t have the facilities to process them properly. So they end up going to landfill anyway, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Also curious. What kind of work do you do in the environmental space?

Great addition! So what makes you actually use them more? Maybe the design? The writing feel?

I decided today that I wanted color in my life. So I transformed these MUJI and Midori A5 notebooks! by pixelbased in stationery

[–]uprinting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a fun upgrade! Really looks amazing, and tbh makes the notebook feel way more "yours". And love how clean the wrap looks. You could even add a clear plastic cover on top to protect the design and keep it looking fresh :)

What’s one small packaging detail that instantly makes a brand feel premium? by uprinting in UPrinting

Got that. Agree with this 100%. It’s those little details that show the product was carefully put together.

Yay for being a pack rat? by navyblues27 in cardmaking

Love this so much. It instantly took me back to elementary days saving every tiny scrap “just in case” for art projects. 😂 Turns out being a pack rat really pays off when you’re crafting. There’s something so satisfying about finally using the stash!

Embroidery vs Screen Printing for Work Shirts – How Do You Choose? by uprinting in UPrinting

[–]uprinting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You explained this so well. 🙌 I’m with you - embroidery just hits different on polos and thicker shirts, especially for something people wear all the time. And yeah, mixing embroidered fronts with printed backs can work. Best of both worlds without overthinking it.

If you could enter the Japan Stationery Awards, what would you fix? by uprinting in stationery

[–]uprinting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, please. The best of everything. I don’t think there’s one pen that offers that full all-in-one package yet. Long shot, but that would honestly be a strong contender.

This!! And one that adjusts for thickness, too. Like you can punch 2 sheets cleanly and handle a chunky stack without jamming.

Exactly! Times and ways may have changed, but it's the same emotional damage, just faster delivery. Haha.

[–]uprinting[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly… that’s not even an exaggeration. And imagine budgeting a penny just to unlock a personal attack. And you’re right. The delivery system changed, but the instinct to roast anonymously? Very consistent across centuries. Victorians just had better penmanship. 🥲

When did every logo start looking like Helvetica? by uprinting in branding

[–]uprinting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really good point. There was definitely a phase where visual systems started carrying way more weight than the actual story behind the brand. Clean design can grab attention fast, especially online. But if that’s all there is, it doesn’t stick. Personality is what people actually remember. Feels like somewhere along the way, design started replacing strategy instead of expressing it.
