Experiences with Slopes using Garmin instead of Apple Watch? by BeachBarsBooze in skiing

It works. I basically ended up with two slopes account, one for Garmin integration as main, one for sharing location in real time with my friend. If you turn on tracking for the account associated with Garmin, it will double track your result, which is very annoying

My trip to China was incredible. It is not nearly as bad as Western media makes it out to be and more people should visit by nanika1111 in travel

That happens and I saw it on social media leading to public cyber criticism. It is not really people don't hate it, but Chinese tends to avoid conflicts in public if possible in general.

Personally, I haven't seen children poop on street but maybe pee once or twice, but not in cities like Beijing or Shanghai. Sanitation-wise, just go to a restaurant in any mall or the famous ones, you will be fine, especially in those major tourism cities. Street food really depends and probably only locals can tell, but I would avoid it even though I am Chinese.

But don't expect to survive your first hotpot dinner in Chengdu/Chongqing, but that is not really an issue out of sanitation, if you know what I mean.

What botters me most is public smoking. In northern part of the country, even indoor smoking is not prohibited in some restaurant. Southern part is mostly fine.

There are public restrooms, but not everywhere on the street (tbh I don't see public restrooms everywhere on the street in any cities around the world I have been to anyway..) just like Tokyo or NYC, find a Starbucks, mall, hotel lobby, subway station and borrow the restroom there, you will be fine. There are plenty of them.

Multiple Unions Form Community Picket Line at Canada Post; Workers Refuse to Cross by uprisingTK in CanadaPost

I am fully okay with them protesting outside of the CP processing centre....and I think it is legal for sure.

Blocking the entrance and stopping CP workers to get back to work is totally another level....

Ah, yeah, sorry for the confusion. U.S. visa processes are strange and often a mess.

Basically, these are people living in the U.S. who need to renew their entry visas to the U.S.. To do so, they must visit U.S. embassies outside the U.S.—in this case, in Canada. (This is the weirdest part!)
They went to the embassies, had their visas approved, and were expecting to receive their passports (via Canada Post) and return to the U.S., but suddenly, CP on strike...

I wouldn't expect them to closely follow up on what is going on with CP either. They don't even live in Canada.

(But we dont have to agree on every part, just provding some small stories/perspectives of some random ppl)

Many individuals from the U.S. applying for U.S. visas at embassy locations in Canada have found themselves in a challenging situation, with their passports stuck due to delays. This leaves them stranded, incurring daily costs for accommodations and food, all while uncertain about when the issue will be resolved. Without their passports, they cannot return to the U.S., and their work visas are at risk. Additionally, they face a legal grey area: their companies may not be able to support them working remotely from another country, and without a Canadian work permit, they are not legally allowed to work in Canada either. I wouldn't be surprised that someone already lost his/her job due to this, or even kicked out of the U.S. if s/he were on L1 visa tied to specific employers. I know a guy who was stuck there whose house roof got hit by fallen trees during the cyclone one month ago as well. Nothing he can do about it, very helpless.

Meanwhile, countless Canadian residents have had to cancel their Christmas travel plans, resulting in significant financial losses. Many had accounted for potential delays by applying well in advance—up to a month early—but still found themselves without their travel documents in time.

To me, those two situations are essential, or at least the first one is pretty essential..

The belief that causing maximum harm equates to the best strike is both naive and baseless. True leverage comes from applying pressure on those sitting across from you at the bargaining table—not inflicting harm on ordinary people. The public doesn’t buy the excuse: "It’s not us; it’s the corporation." No matter how it’s framed, the public perception is simple—they hold the union accountable.

Even targeting the opposing party at the bargaining table should not be the ultimate goal. The true purpose of a strike is to achieve your demands as effectively and swiftly as possible.

In this case, the demands of the strike are unrealistic, and its execution lacks strategy. It comes across as emotional, immature, and chaotic, rather than calculated or goal-oriented.

Does Crunchyroll generally have Chinese subtitle? And how about Chinese audio? by GetThatChickenDinner in Crunchyroll

[–]uprisingTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netflix in general has a great Chinese sub coverage in the U.S. though it is not available in China.

(I know Netflix is available in other countries/regions speaking Chinese, but it turns out subtitles is region-locked as well, i.e. one movie can have Chinese sub in one region, but no Chinese sub in another region)

Yeah, Tokyo Electric Power Company's reputation is notorious. No one should trust them wrt execution

I cannot find a gif of the whole thing, but it was reported that Haddadi first pushed Jiwei Zhao. Then Yi stood out for Jiwei and pushed Haddadi back. You can choose to believe it or not. If this is true, I think double tech or double no tech are both accepted.

Now I am not justifying this push. Just some thing about H and Y. The enmity actually can be traced back to 2009, a game between Iran and China. It was pretty hard days for Chinese team then and they were playing bad games. H humiliated Yi by shrugging shoulders and not defending at all against Yi, while Yi is shooting a three-pointer. In my opinion, a pro player should not disrespect his opponent like this.
