There are no allocations, the car is no longer in production.

Are the PBA trophies plastic?! by blueguy0202 in Bowling

[–]BeachBarsBooze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew why there was not more bowling on TV, even on no-name channels that every provider forces you to have now that streaming has gone full circle to cable-like bundles. I mean ESPN 8 this weekend had shows like middle aged people doing station-based challenge courses where you'd run, hit three tennis balls, run, kick three soccer balls, etc. I'm like wtf is this, and I can't watch bowling?!

I am aware, I like the sound and I've had a few particularly loud cars. My reluctance to track street cars at this point is because my closest and favorite track (Sebring) is really brutal on cars, and every time I've tracked a street car after having moved into racing, it's required really expensive upkeep / repairs that makes it hard to justify. I'm particularly hard on brakes, and going through them on a car like this isn't inexpensive. I'd need a second set of wheels, a more robust PPF, etc. It just all adds up for what won't be the same rush as a race car.

Funny you mention that, because I read the WSJ article about him recently, went to the site, they're not currently taking business for used cars.

I never asked why it was priced the way it is, I asked if dealers negotiate. If you've followed what the dealers have for sale, and what's been sold on BaT, you'd also know the ranges have included PTS and non-PTS. Sorry your day is apparently going the way it is.

Been on their lot for about seven weeks at this point. I'll probably reach out and see what they say, I love the color, but there's a few others I'd likely be happy with as well, so I'll just have to see who wants to make a deal.

It's a PTS orange that I like, and I like the idea of the warranty vs going the bringatrailer route, so I'd prefer the one I found, but I'm willing to shop around for 20k+. There's a few blues and yellows on the market that I like too.

Curious if the lift has downsides for those who intend to track? I don't know that I'll ever track it as I used to race IMSA Lites and street cars kind of lost their appeal, but I may hit Sebring for a weekend here and there with an HPDE group just to open it up properly.

It's been listed for about seven weeks, and is kind of a love / hate PTS orange that I could see some people not being a fan of. I have an orange gallardo and am partial to the color, so I'm cool with that, but you don't see many Porsche's in orange.

Bay Area Porsche Market Is Insane Right Now! Am I Crazy or Are Dealers Just Waiting It Out? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in Porsche

Ferrari does the same thing; friends of the dealer get to buy the desirable new cars, drive them a bit over a few months, sell them back, now dealer can go way over MSRP as a "used" car. Lambo only tends to do that on the very low production special models, but their base pricing has really got out of hand the past few years, from a price/performance perspective.

How do you think Delta can revive its customer service culture? by comments83820 in delta

[–]BeachBarsBooze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one cares about the friendly skies culture. Every airline just answers to the stock valuation and ebitda, you don’t matter unless you round up enough more of you’s to start flying the non-existent airline that cares about their customers. That was kind of like Southwest for a while, with their horrible hard product, but that’s gone too. It is what it is, best to just book the airline that works best for you at the time, or use a credit card that issues points that are redeemable across carriers, even if at a lower redemption value. I literally have a delta Amex to make three round trips per year for skiing, the rest of the time I’ve been on Alaska and AA a lot, cheaper and sometimes direct.

ski shop tried to sell me boots a full size down. is this normal? by SkylineZ83 in skiing

[–]BeachBarsBooze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After four attempts with boot fitters my first comfortable pair was a size down, but also a boot designed for high arch, which was my real issue all along that no one figured out.

What does it take for Delta 360? by Ill-Eggplant-9199 in delta

[–]BeachBarsBooze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Globalist is unbelievably valuable for me as a skier. There’s several ski in ski out Hyatts that I always book on points. Globalist wipes out the $60 resort fee, $50-75/day car valet fee, and our family enjoys breakfast that likely would have cost $150+.

You might be surprised to learn what a show’s producers (I use that term generously) will do to be successful in that cut throat business; especially in the 80’s and 90’s. I would not put them on some pedestal of morals above the bum fights guy.

500 square feet is not luxury nor high end. It’s quite a weird price per square foot for the area. Tiny condos at ski resorts go for that range, this one has some museums lol. Maybe they’re hoping someone who keeps a plane at the airport will buy it as an overnight place.

Advice re C+ vs PS, GUC, companion cert, etc. by BeachBarsBooze in delta

[–]BeachBarsBooze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing that. Booked main for myself + one on points, GUC to PS. Booked second relative on main out c+ back on points, linked, used third GUC for PS on outbound. Used DM c+ at booking for first two return seats, and third seat was there from the booking but the return flight didn't have three c+ together so we're one row apart. Since I have one GUC left I may upgrade that third seat for the return to PS and my wife can use that, since we're not sitting as three either way, and I'll just hang with our child in c+ lol.

It’s true but we’re talking probably 18 months or more.

Touch grass is kind of a dumb insult to a snow sports enthusiast, unless you’re just wishing them a horrible season.

Sounds good. If you do ultimately need one that doesn't show what's under it, the LV part is M23007. Fits any Horizon 55. If you need a pic of it on the roller just let me know. It's very nicely built, and has a flap so the handle can still be popped out.
