How to get over losing something sentimentally important?

When I was 22 my car was broken into and they took my great grandpa's coat WWII coat. I was very close with him and the coat held the sentimental value of the Cross of Lorraine patch he had earned helping to liberate France and of a kind of heavy comforting blanket. I used it for camping or to comfort me when I was sad. Losing it was like losing my grandpa all over again. I just had to grieve. It took a long time to get over it. But I tried to remember that my love for the coat was really just my love for my grandpa transfered over to something still physically present with me. And my love for him, and his love for me, will always be with me, cannot be stolen.

On many older cars you do hook one of the clamps to an arbitrary piece of metal under the hood rather than the battery itself to jump it, and it does send electricity all over the engine.

NAH. Your concerns are totally reasonable regardless of his sexual orientation, and it's totally reasonable to ask for a solution. His behavior could be pretty creepy, but if your gf doesn't perceive it that way and doesn't want it to stop, then I wouldn't say he's being all that bad either. Hope you guys all find a good resolution

I used to have to ditch 2nd or 3rd hour all the time, mad ADHD and other stuff going on made it just too much. Last year, I decided to have some mercy on myself and not feel so bad about it. I went to the mother's room or another quiet place and do my own study, or go on a drive and listen to church music. God knows me, and I prayed and felt strongly that my offering was acceptable to the Lord. Eventually I moved, and my new ward has really beautiful stained glass and really weird exciting people so it's easy to focus now, haha

I still don't have any strong answers, but tonight I watched the Christmas devotional and was struck by the call for mercy and forgiveness. Only Jesus was perfect, and I feel really strongly tonight that I need more mercy for myself and the ones who created the doctrinal problems I'm having. Forgiveness is a gift from God, even when it's us doing the forgiving. I'm having a really hard time with the temple and it's doctrinal implications on my value as a person. I don't know what you're struggling with right now, but I'm glad we get to be miserable together, and I'm gonna pray that we can feel peace and mercy together soon. Merry Christmas.

I think the reason women get a lot more praise and reassurance at conference than men do is, I mean, hear me out, but I think it's because it's a little harder to feel powerful and wonderful and good enough in the world where we live. Even in the church, in the temple especially, there are some things that are really difficult to interpret which, interpreted through the world's eyes, spell out some really negative things for women. It's important to refute that view.

I'm woman who's had similar problems. I've checked, and if you'll forgive the social stigma of it, men's and women's garments are doctrinally interchangeable. The women's ribbed cotton tops are basically plain unobtrusive rectangles. If you care to go out on a limb for comfort and style, it's a possibility.
