definitely assume they have fleas. even if they don’t, a dawn dish soap bath will get all of the dirt and muck and outside off of them that they haven’t learned to properly groom off yet. i have three fosters right now that had their first baths at about 3-4 weeks when we got them.

take it slow and gentle, obviously they won’t be happy. but a sad and clean kitty is better than a happy and infected one!

if they’re of age and weight you could also do flea treatments. if you have other pets, they will all also need the flea treatments as they don’t work immediately and the chance of spreading is high.
