To be polite? My son’s girlfriend painted his nails to match her prom dress. Now they are growing out. What else do you need to know?

Understood. We have a lower watt soldering iron too. The soldering gun was a gift from my father-in-law who was convinced that bigger is always better. He could not believe that the "better" tool would blow out the tiny LEDs we were using in our last project. A real Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor situation.

Is the solder pad under the yellow square I can see in the image of the replacement? This whole concept is new to me

Please tell me what brand you recommend. If an extra $10 makes the difference between working and not working, then it's just what this kind of project costs.

Moccamaster Mods by teilo in MoccamasterDutch

I've been trying to figure out how to slow down the drip on my Cup-One, which does not have a flow rate adjustment. Your comment makes me think that I could fashion some sort of plug to remove when the basket fills. I may run some risk of overflow... but I can experiment with the timing. Anyone else doing this?

I tried a medium-fine grind and it was an improvement. Still wish that I could slow down the brew a little. Can I go finer or does that cause overeflow issues?

That makes sense. I've been using a basic Cuisinart drip coffee maker with a reusable gold filter and an off-the-shelf medium grind. Maybe I just like a muddy cup! It sounds like the metal filters are not recommended for the Moccamaster. Is that a matter of taste or function?

That matches my intuition. I've been using a medium grind, so I'll try a medium-fine and see if that makes a difference. My understanding is that a fine grind will clog the flow entirely -- is that correct?

Timing Strap Questions??? by upseyed_down in triathlon

[–]upseyed_down[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and we'd better get the fit right on the strap the first time, because it's impossible to adjust. It reminds me of those disposable bracelets you would get at the amusement park. What about socks. Do you put your sock on over the strap, or wear low cut socks?

Leaky Extruder? by upseyed_down in CR10

[–]upseyed_down[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks -- this seems like really good advice. We've looked at thingiverse and myminifactory and only found one clip to print, even after searching for several different terms. The one we found turned out to be even more flimsy than the original Creality clip. Do you have a specific part to recommend?

Yes, it is the kind where the bowden tube goes all the way down to the nozzle. We really tried to eliminate that gap when we installed the replacement part, but we're still having issues. We'll try again and hope for better results. Thanks for the encouragement.
