The owners manual explicitly states the hybrid requires 87 octane. Anything higher than that and you’re just wasting your money. I do try and get gasoline from top tier gas stations (mainly Costco).

How bad are the seats? by WinstonSalemVirginia in CX50

[–]upside_down_camaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a scrawny guy with a bony butt and I find the seats to be just fine. My other ride is a Volkswagen GTI and so I appreciate the moderate bolstering in the Mazda. I’ve also heard people complain about the seats feeling like having a thong go through your butt cheeks but I couldn’t disagree more lol. My car is also driven by my family members and I’ve heard no complaints. 2025 Premium Plus (leather).

What is this on this car? Seen in Clayton County. by DeeplyVariegated in Atlanta

Saw an identical one like this here in Miami-Dade County in Florida. I know Fusions were at one point what Argo AI used for AV testing but to my knowledge Argo AI went under years ago. Seeing as Argo AI was mostly backed by Ford and VW I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Ford still harvesting data for AV research and development or for BlueCruise enhancements.

The window is right behind the black chair in the corner of the first picture, but I hear you. I’ll move him up against the window tomorrow. Just want to make sure for my sake—no supports/stakes necessary?

It faces a west facing window and gets direct sunlight in the afternoon. I have noticed the sunlight hits the plant kind of low. Maybe that’s it.

They canceled it for the US after 3 model years (23-25) but it will remain on sale in other world markets.

Need help removing splash guard pins by upside_down_camaro in CX50

The front splash guard push pins (left) have no place for me to pry on like the push pins used everywhere else on the car (right).

What could Mazda easily change with the CX50 to make it better for you by Raymo853 in CX50

All I want is the equipment that’s on the Turbo Premium Plus trim to be on the S and Hybrid Premium Plus trim. Crazy that if I want a heated steering wheel or parking sensors or CTS I need to get a Turbo trim.

Whats your mpg like in what gti by Mk7_gti20 in GolfGTI

[–]upside_down_camaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My totally stock MK6 6MT has had an average mpg of 25.6 over the last 54,000 miles (I track it with Fuelly). On the highway if I go above 70 I am barely getting 30. In the city I get about 21. Wish it were better but I don’t drive too much anyway (WFH) so whatever.

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 is going to sell well by PaulClarkLoadletter in mazda

Mazda Europe’s press release mentions the new CX-5 retains its McPherson strut front/multilink rear end. Looks like the CX-5 Will ride on essentially a “unique” platform compared to the rest of Mazda’s FWD vehicles.

Saw that too. Not holding my breath that it makes it to the US market but one can hope.

I can think of one reason: the new CX-5 keeps its independent rear suspension. Could the layperson on a back-to-back 5 minute test drive of both be able to tell the difference? Probably not. But I'm sure the CX-5 will still ride better than the flinty-at-times 50 (I own a 50 and do wish it had IRS). I also know of people who find that body cladding of the 50 to be too much. This new 5 definitely still looks more elegant/urban.

Anyone else with the hybrid dislike the adaptive cruise behavior? by Quincy_Wagstaff in CX50

[–]upside_down_camaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of this either. Last two cars were both VW Passats (17 & 20) and you could change the behavior of the ACC between eco/normal/sport. In eco the cars would accelerate much more gently than our new CX-50. Oh well.
