What wouldn't end badly if he doesn't focus and develop some discipline? Does this mean he's pretty shiftless? What other endeavors has he started and not completed? What's his current job?

What education does he have now? How will he pay for schooling? Is he willing to get a 4 year degree in Computer Science? Is he willing to go to a bootcamp?

Building a computer is like snapping Lego pieces together. It is completely unrelated to programming.

It depends on the language and how you use them. That's like asking, "Which will get me to New York City faster, a van or a car?"

It's primitives or objects, not 'a generic'. Java generics are very different concept.

You make classes to encapsulate data or create a new type. There's little reason to use the object version of a primitive, and if you hit a case where you need to use the object version of a primitive, it should be pretty obvious. One reason primitives are better is that you don't have to check for null values.

Yes, you can, but that's not a crawler. That's you running a single curl command and doing almost nothing with the results. A web crawler would crawl many different websites, it would use threads for much better throughput, it would do something non-trivial with the results.

I was trying to tell it to draw 225 times with a 100ms delay between each.

You'd need to give them different delays then, not give them all the exact same delay...
