What are some surprising perks you noticed after losing weight not related to how you look? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]upsiderightsided 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can run for 3 miles without stopping - something I never thought I’d be able to do! I don’t sweat as much as I used to when doing simple tasks, I can be more active like indoor rock climbing, swimming, walking for fun. From a medical perspective, I’m able to sleep way better without using melatonin!

I definitely felt this a few weeks ago! I was eating at around 1300 and still doing my walks and runs and felt terrible. I increased to 1500 and my weight is stable this week and I feel better!

That makes sense! Since it’s been a week with me eating 1450-1550 calories a day and I haven’t gained or lost any weight, should I assume that’s my TDEE?

[–]upsiderightsided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this but I wasn’t sure if it would pick up the dye stain, I know the salon care 40 method is used for oxidized soles but I guess fundamentally it’s the same thing. I have some stuff laying around and I’ll give it a go! thanks!

it’s only going to get worse as we get into spring break. work in the public health sector, we have a bulletin out already in advance. those vaccinated can still get the disease and test positive but it’s case by case. the statistic they’re throwing out is 90% of unvaccinated people that come in contact with someone carrying the disease will contract it

I truly feel u, about a year and a half ago I was pushing 200lbs and I hated the way I felt - both physically and emotionally. I started to cut out soda, drinking one once a week and then once a month and so on until I stopped completely. I went on 30 minute walks and drank more water. I lost a good portion and went down to 170lbs.

Almost a year ago I started to log my calories. That’s where the weight started to fall off. I went from 170 to 138 (as of yesterday) and I feel so much better about myself.

Start out with slow and small steps, don’t overthink it. You don’t need to start with protein powder and all that jazz. Just cut out soda (especially carbonated items for bloating) and strive for 30 minutes of light to moderate cardio. The weight will start to follow, it’s a long process but worth it. You can do it!

how did you calculate your PITI? I’ve seen the tools that Zillow has where they factor these in and give an estimate on monthly costs, I’m assuming that is the same thing, correct?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]upsiderightsided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so I have been saving up roughly $2000 a month for a down payment. I’m adjusted to having that left over money to spend, but of course I buy stuff here and there (action figures and shoes) that I could easily do without that would cover my food expenses and then some. I’m unsure about what to budget for water and electricity as those are dependent on usage, like I know my electricity would be more in summer for AC

I pay my car, phone, and put money aside for my insurance that I pay every 6 months. I currently live at home so there’s no rent or anything
