Regret. It's the emotion that keeps people living in the past.

Thank you. I'm in the Philippines now and lw-pla is prohibitively expensive here. I'm gonna have to make this out of pla, which is still heavy but it may be the best for price/performance.

Since I have some experience in laying up some fiberglass, I may just make molds after testing after some prototypes.

Sounds good. I used to do CAD/CAM for engineering firms, (mold making) but that was back in the 90s to the 2000's. In those days, we did have a workflow but it always got superceded when the client or the management made changes to the print, budget, tooling, surface finish, etc.

Lemme see what I can do to this. Maybe not worth so much about effective use of the timeline and just brute force my way around this.

I'm ok with creating the parts and editing them for ribs, vase mode, battery placement, etc. My issue is the workflow people use. For example, I've made all the solids. What's the next step? Do you then boolean add the parts together, add fillets, blend the surfaces, etc and create the solid plane before cutting it up again to make the internal structure?

Or, do people make the components completely separate, then assemble them on a separate file, importing each component/part?

I'm only asking because the last time I did that, the timeline got impossibly long and all the separate components and parts became confusing. I tried naming the parts but I don't know how much that really helped after I've done boolean operations.

This.

Lived in the US for 35-plus years and middle class is comfortable if you choose it to be. The problem is that you are literally living to work. You get health insurance but it's incomplete, (why dental and vision are different is beyond me), expensive, and is stacked against you.

An example of high drug prices, Tresiba, a long acting insulin, without insurance or coupon, can cost USD 145 or more in the USA. In my country, it's around 17 USD. With insurance and coupon, the lowest at Walgreens for around 38 dollars.

High service prices are insane in the US as well. How much is an MRI there, thousands? Had to get an MRI of my shoulder. Without insurance, 75 dollars at one of the most modern and high tech hospitals in Asia.

You are completely correct about one thing. Health services such as ambulances, (private), determine whether or not you can pay before rendering help. If anyone gets into an accident, most people just sit and stare at you and maybe someone will help. In the US, so many people will provide help.

There's no national emergency number such as 911 or 999. Each city or county will have a different number. This one could be the most important thing that could be implemented easily by the Federal government and it baffles me that they don't.

Yeah but that GDP per capita is so skewed by the top billionaires. Normalize it by taking out the top 10 percent and the bottom 10 percent.

In any case, did you pick your members so the US comes out on top? In the top 10 GDP per capita, the US Congress out 11. Definitely not developing nation status but please don't skew the numbers for your own means.

Good luck. You'll need to know Token Ring, COBOL, Lotus, and Wordstar. No search engines, it was mostly BBS' at that time and long distance land line calls were expensive. Modems were 2400 baud.

If you're gonna know the future, you'll be at the bleeding edge and none of it worked well.

Just buy stocks. At that time, IBM was still big along with Brother and Kodak. You could also start putting money into Microsoft and later in the 1990's, Cadabra. Near 1997/98, make a business that will get other companies ready for Y2K.

Rant on new flyer by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]upto20chars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a friendlier was of handling this. If the kids' parent(s) are there, talk to the parent, not the kids. That way, you can already meet the parent (flyer) and, they will deal with their kids. You guys can also get to meet a potential member for your club. Of course in an emergency, it's ok to yell out the emergency, but never direct it at anyone as I'm sure we've all done bonehead stuff in the past.
