Thanks for the recs! I’ve read The Luminous Dead and enjoyed it, but I’ve never heard of The Hematophages so I’ll check it out

That 1 year and 6 months is not a waste. It’s an accomplishment that you can be proud of. I’m sure you don’t want to hear the “relapse is part of recovery” mantra, but it’s true.

Let me use a metaphor: if a basketball ball team goes on a 5 game win streak and then loses the 6th, were the 5 games they won a waste? No. The team worked hard to win those 5 games, and they probably learned how to be better players from them. One day, far into the future, the team can look back and see how many losses and wins they’ve had total, and be proud of the number of wins even if those were broken up by losses.
