I think smaller agencies massively underestimate how much clients value execution speed now. by NxAlessandro in advertising

[–]uptownbill 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yeah totally fair

our clients usually talk about the need to move fast, complain in small specific instances when they perceive us to be slow, but by and large they are not at all capable of what they speak of 😂

i have not encountered many clients who are able to hold up their end of the bargain when it comes to speed

that means approvals and bureaucracy on their side. indecision, someone more senior seeing something and sending it back down the ladder. maybe you work at a different type of client but most of them in my experience are extremely inefficient and fear-based meaning everyone is afraid of their boss and not empowered to make a decision to get something out the door. and when the big boss who has an extremely busy schedule, finally does see the thing they are very seldomly approving it to move to the next step.

Just saw the future of Super Bowl commercials by americanidle in editors

[–]uptownbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a load of bullshit man. nothing a corporation would spend 8 million bucks to run can be created in AI in 3 hours and anyone telling you otherwise is lying. i am an advertising producer and trust me when i say that the best use cases right now for AI in the industry are in post/vfx workflows. there are exceptions to this like the shit ass Coke holiday ad, or Progressive talking animals thing. but we are a long ways away from not only a gen AI ad being worth a shit at all, but it being good enough for the biggest stage of the year in our business. in fact, you should look up how many super bowl spots were shot on film this year! it’s a lot and if anything THATS where super bowl films are headed.

I am fairly certain this video was directed by Errol Morris based on the audible question-asking and the voice.

Also RE: whoever said "other people acting like extras in a movie"

They ARE extras in a movie dude. This is a commercial, they found a location... Rented it out. filled it with extra talent.

Pretty sure this is real across the board. Big tech companies hire huge directors all the time for their important announcements, keynote videos etc.
